I agree. When I cocked my head, it looks like an OMC to me too.Date: 4/29/2008 12:55:24 PM

Yes, the kozibe effect is desirable. I don''t know, my eyes do not see it as round. It is the way it was set that makes it appear rounder than it really is. It looks as if the stone was set at a 45 degree angle with the (not so) pointy corners sticking out in between where the prongs are.
I was thinking the same thing.Date: 4/29/2008 1:57:30 PM

It looks OM-like, but I wonder if it isn't either an authentic, antique OM that has been repolished, or a modern cut polished to look like an OM. What I'm trying to say is, it looks like a 'tarted up' OM...if that makes any sense.![]()
To me it is a bit of a lob-sided OEC!Date: 4/29/2008 12:39:41 PM

Can anyone tell me if this in an Old Mine Cut? It''s being sold as an OMC but looks like an Old European Cut to me. And what are those dots around the center?
Any comments would be helpful. Thanks.
There you go an expert opinion from an older cut expert(diamond age not personal age! lol).Date: 4/29/2008 3:54:29 PM

Probably from the end of the 19th. Century...
All 8 mains look pretty even to me in size..., just the outline is a bit lob-sided..., nice stone..., lots of character!
