I just put a diamond on hold and i just noticed that the ags report and sarin report show different specs. Could someone tell me if this diamond if not as good as i thought or if any red flags pop up. Thanks

What ags says and I bought based on this:

Report: AGS
. Shape: Whiteflash ACA
. Carat: 0.813
. Depth %: 61.8
. Table %: 54.6
. Crown Angle: 34.2
. Crown %: 15.5
. Star : 53
. Pavilion Angle: 40.8
. Pavilion %: 43
. Lower Girdle %: 76
. Girdle: Thin to Medium Faceted

Sarin report says:

it''s fine, don''t worry.

even with the table % being alot smaller. ive read that will make the diamond appear smaller. also girdle size if different.

It is normal for the sarin scan to be slightly different from the values on the AGS report, depends on the calibration and use of the sarin machine.

You can see the ASET image, that has more information than the average numbers given from the sarin scan report.

Here is aset. I think im getting anal after looking for a long time.

so should I go by the sarin report or is the ags more accurate?

The resemblance and the spelling are purely coincidental.

Ask yourself why do you want to know the exact table size? To predict the performance of the stone based on a 2 dimensional formulation, the HCA? The ASET is showing the performance of the stone in 3D actual under the scope, without averaging from the AGS or sarin scan, so why are you still being anal on 2D average numbers?

not worried about the light just dont want the stone to look smaller than .81. read that lower table % makes stone appear smaller.

baloney, IMO.

No, we have already said, the diameter is what is the physical size of the stone. This is about ideal for this stone. As long as the stone is not badly cut, that will be the apparent size of the stone.

Table size big makes a bigger stone only in the case of a shallow crown angle stone. A steep crown angle stone with a big table will look small, as a lot of mass will be under the crown. So it is case by case and this is stone is about as good as there is.

thanks stone cold. thought i was being deceived for a min. there from the two reports being different. Thanks for the help
