Hey guys, I am looking for 1 ct, F VS1 round shape diamond for her. My budget is around $6500-7000, I wonder what quality of the stone I can find on the web?
I found one at WF
1.01ct, F VS1
6.52-6.54 x3.91
Depth: 59.9
Table 55
Crown angle 30.8
Pavilion angle 40.7
Symmetry: excellent
Polish: excellent
$6955
Is it a good price based on the quality of the stone? From the ideal-scope image, it looks the symmetry is not that good.

Any sugestion will be highly appreciated!

Is this an in-house WF stone? Do you have the crown angle right??? I''m hoping the crown angle is really 34.8 and not 30.8. Be sure your numbers are correct because 30.8 would not be good.

I asked WF to order in this stone, and they sent me these images with Sarin report. The crown angle is 30.8. I also found out that is not a good number, and is my biggest concern. Thanks.

I don't know, you might want to do some more research on it. it scores a 1.4 on the HCA....it looks like it is one of those BIC's, whose name I would def like if it didn't spell bic, which reminds me of a pencil for some reason.

It isn't a common angle in the diamonds I have looked at, but if it isn't good they won't recommend it, and just because it isn't common doesn't mean it is bad. and if they do recommend it and you want assurance that it is up to WF recommendations you can probably always ask JQ to look at the info himself. In the future I imagine you should probably get a copy of the diamond's cert and check it out more completely before calling in stone's for further inspection.

Symmetry is actually quite nice. Just too shallow for a ring stone.

I would get WF to advise you accordingly, also regarding that crown angle.

I agree with JulieN. The stone looks quite pretty but more suited for an earring than a ring, due to it being shallow.

Thanks for all the advice.

I am still waiting for the advice from WF.

I got a call from WF, they said the stone is beautiful with good light performance. They also admit that the crown angle is a little bit low. However they still recommend me to buy it, otherwise they will charge me $55 for shipping back to the vendor. As I talked with them before, if the stone doesn''t meet the WF standard, they won''t recomment me to buy it. Does it mean this stone meets the WF standard, I can buy it without worries?

Thanks!

I''ll probably take this stone, or should I search more?
Any suggestion? Thanks!

Are you in a rush? Now soon do you need a stone? How close to perfection are you aiming for?

I want to stick to 1.00ct F VS1 stone, and ~$7000 as well. I am not sure weather I can get a better one at this price.

I haven''t made the decision yet. I heard so much good stuff about WF, but I don''t know why they push me buying that stone. They promised me to get a very great stone that meets WF''s strict standard, otherwise they won''t charge me. Does this stone meet WF''s standard? Thanks!

If you still have time, I'd keep looking. The stone is for a ring right? I'd prefer something not so shallow for that.
If you are pressed for time, it is a lovely stone. There's nothing wrong with it, it just isn't my taste.

However, if you must have a F VS1 (no budging on either specs), your options will be greatly limited.

If you can forgive a G, this is a MUCH better stone:

With the PS discount, it is $6960, AGS0 and is an expert selection stone.

Another G VS1 from WF for $7008
