Hey, where's the price...? *looking around*

It's around $5,000.

Is that a good price for a mall jeweler?

First of all the price should be around $2200-$2250,
The stone has verystrong flour. In many cases that means that the stone is Hazy!also who certified it?

check the web for similar stones and compare.

good luck

It was GIA cert. And I can't find a website that gives mall jeweler sales prices.

the website will give you internet prices!

You will not find a website that tells you "mall prices". What you will find on places like PriceScope is a general consensus the mall stores are least liked out of Brick & Mortar (B&M) stores.

I would stay away from a K, I1 from anywhere but the most trusted source, and finding a trusted source is tough. Under the bright hologen spot lights of the mall store anything will look great. Everything I saw in the mall stores was in the H-L color range and even my untrained eye could see how yellow they looked. Taking them out of the store, under the general mall lights looked even worse. I could see inclusions and the stones just did not shine very well. You are wise to have looked online before buying.

Are you in a rush to decide? Are you sure your gf/fiance-to-be/wife likes pear shape? Yellow or White gold or platinum? Knowing this will help the experts here guide you in the right direction. They did for me.

Reebs,

Welcome to PS! Be sure to check out the tutorial under the knowledge section of this website: Click Here as well as the FAQ's section. You will quickly see that we're not big fans of Maul...er.. I meant "Mall" vendors here on PS. You can definitely find MUCH better deals online and I would recommend that you at least consider all of your options. Since you are in the market for a Pear, you should consult the AGA cut parameters to at least help you find out if the stone you're looking at is worth the price: Click Here Also, how noticeable are the inclusions? Inclusions on an I1 are large enough to start to visibly affect light return and brilliance so you need to be careful.... Good Luck!
