Is $7,500 a good price for this diamond? If not, what should I be looking for instead? THanks!

Clarity: VS2
Measurements: 7.20x7.24x4.38

This could be a shallow stone, it faces up too large for a 1.37 carat diamond (I think it should be around 7.0 when ideal cut). Also, I made a quick search and couldn't find an excellent stone this size and graded by GIA/AGS below 10k$.

Finally, EGL is known to be inconsistent, it may very well be a J SI2 with a fair/good cut for all we know...that would explain the low price.

I would stay away from that stone. Doesn't look good. As we always say on PS, when it looks to good to be true it usually is...try to stick to GIA/AGS graded stones, these labs are much more reliable. And you will find a lot of interesting things to read in the knowledge section of PriceScope that wil help you choose a better stone.

Good luck with your search!

the diameter of the stone seems OK, comparison 1.37 diamonds are around 7.17 mm. however, I would stick with GIA or AGS so you know what you are getting and can compare prices fairly.

that diamond is priced like a GIA I SI1. A GIA H VS2 1.37 ct is around 10k.
