Newbie here, some great info and advice. Looking for a diamond for my sweetie, and came across one in my search that looks interesting:

Princess cut
.79, H, SI1
Depth 70%
Table 72%
Thin to Med girdle
very close to square
no fluorescence

They''re asking about $2,100. Any advice or comments would be most welcome. I''m just worried that I''m missing something and will wind up with a not so nice stone.

Expensive, small for the weight because the proportions of the cut are way off. For this size (meaning diameter), you can find a smaller (in weight) and cheaper stone with a shallower (ideal cuts will be 10% ledd deap, not to mention others) cut and a few $ less around here. I am running out of ideas for the moment... but give Whiteflash a try. There was a similar post with three choices from there last night, and this price hinted towards F, SI for the same size (about 60% depth, ideal). Just an idea

Hi Daniel,

Is there a GIA report?

If so, please publish more stats so you 'll give us a more complete picture to be able to assist.

If there is not report, it will call the grade into question. Most dealers I know will certify a stone of .79 if it's H/SI1.

This is all I have on it at the moment, I found this stone online:
