Hey Everyone...I''m new to the forum but was curious as to whether or not this is a good diamond...I would REALLY REALLY appreciate any feedback....

Round Diamond
1.540 carats

Cut - Ideal
Clarity - Si1
Color - F
Measurements - 7.43 - 7.47 x 4.49 mm
Depth - 60.1%
Table - 60%
Girldle - Thin - M Faceted
Cutlet - None
Fluorescence - None
Polish - EX
Symmetry - EX
I really do think I am getting a good deal BUT want to know what others think - that are more experienced with this...=) Thanks again.

Will need the crown and pavilion angles, star and lower half numbers.

I don''t have that information yet. I am waiting for the report to be emailed to me, so hopefully I will get it soon...thanks.

From what you see so far, is there anything to be concerned about?

Nothing really stands out as bad. Table is larger than what some prefer but that is a personal preference thing. Everything else looks fine so far.

Hi Maranino

This is what we call a 60 60 type diamond ( 60% depth 60% table) some really like this type of stone, however the crown and pavilion angles are the deciding factor, so if you could post those please when you can and for completeness, the star and lower girdle facet percentages, that will be helpful.

Is this diamond being sold online or with a store jeweller?

Thank you to both of you for answering me...Unfortunately, I havent received the information that I would like to so have decided to look at another diamond...this is what the EGL certificate says...

Round Brilliant
1.52 Carats
Measurement - 7.40 x 7.33 x 4.56
Color - D
Cut - Excellent Ideal
Clarity - Si1
Depth - 62%
Width - 57%
Crown Height - 14%
Pavillion Depth - 44%
Girdle - Medium, Faceted
Polish - Ex
Symmetry - Ex
Cutlet - N
Graining - Nil
Fluorescence - None

Also, Under comments it says -- 8 hearts and 8 arrows. This diamond was polished utilizing superior precision & craftsmanship, its exquisite proportions generate the appearance of 8 hearts and 8 arrows, when viewed at the correct angle & under proper lighting conditions.

This is all of the information on the certificate - Nothing else is on there. I hope this is enough info for any feedback, and once again, I greatly appreciate it =)

Its not the best cut diamond and as to it being h&a we would really have to see images of both hearts and arrows....I would stick to AGS or GIA graded diamonds if budget permits, EGL lab's grading accuracy can vary. Can you still get the info for the first diamond?

More on how the grading labs rank here.

Not really that good. H&A does not imply good optical performance only good optical symm, and we need to see a Hearts and Arrows image before we say it is a H&A.

Thanks for our help. The first diamond was EGL Certified also, so I''m going to start looking for GIA or AGS. Thanks again =)

Good hunting. :)
