Hello,

My husband and I will be celebrating 10 years of marriage later this year and I’m looking to upgrade my engagement ring. I want a 3 to 5 carat elongated cushion. I was thinking a 1.5 ratio but wasn’t sure if that would be too long as I’ve read that some people prefer 1.3 as the sweet spot. I’m not a fan of the crushed ice look so I’m looking for brilliant or old mine cut. I like the larger facets. I’ve been browsing these forums for 10 years (since we first got engaged!) but I’m still no expert so please help me decide if this is a good diamond. I would love and appreciate any feedbacks. Thank you!

@Karl_K, do you have thoughts about this mixed cut cushion? Are there crystal issues? It's CVD.

Its a scissor cut variation, they never video that well and look better in person. Which since it already looks pretty good there is a high probability of it being a good one.
The crystal to me looks good, have to look real close to find the inclusions and the crystal issues look very minor.
Seeing it in person will tell for sure but I would give it a high chance of being a winner.

Thank you so much for your response. I appreciate it. Do you mind giving me your opinion on this stone as well? The cut and clarity are graded slightly better but it's a whole carat less. I'm not sure if that's a good trade off.

Since it's completely different style, you have to decide which you prefer. Personally, I don't like ground glass radiant cuts. You're going to get flashes of light from the scissor cut. Also, there's a fairly decent sized bow tie on the radiant.

Put another way, you have to choose if you want pizza or a hot dog. Very different choices.

I would add.
If you do like crushed ice stones find a better example than this one.

Apologies. I thought both of the stones I shared were cushion cut diamonds. Looks like I need to do more research. All this information is overwhelming since I'm no expert. :wall:Thank you for your input! =)2

I'm actually not a fan of the crushed ice look. I will keep digging. Thank you for your help!

We actually really love your first stone. Fwiw

Thank you so much! I appreciate your help. ◡̈ I’m leaning towards this one also. I’m shopping around to see which website has the best price on the stone but I couldn’t find anything so might just have to bite the bullet and get it.

Some vendors will price match. So take screenshots of all the prices, and then reach out to a favored vendors and see what they’ll do.

Thank you! I tried looking it up on various sites using both the lab report number and the specs but couldn’t find anything. I’ve only seen it on Loose Grown Diamonds so I’ll probably go with that. Thank you again for your help! I appreciate you! ◡̈

I thiiiiiiink (but not 100%), that people have called Ritani and had them source the stone and match the LooseGrown price. That would allow you to work with a US company (assuming you're in the US). But not 100% sure.

However, numerous PSers have had the best time with LooseGrown.

I'm not sure if the stone is still available. I checked Ritani's website and it is showing as sold but I can still add it to cart on LGD.

One thing to know: there are lurkers on this site that snatch up vetted stones. Once you decide on a stone, buy it right away or have the poster delete it from their feed.

Hopefully this stone is still available, but often multiple sites aren't able to refresh as fast as things are sold. Fingers crossed.

Wow, thank you for letting me know! I placed the order so we'll see! Assuming it went through unless I get a cancelation later from them. I can't wait to see the stone in person! Thank you so much for your help and for always responding! :)
