Is this a good diamond or do I need more info to tell?

If I have this much information on this diamond I am considering, can I assume it''s a good one or do I need crown and pavillion, and HCA rating as well to make a determination on whether it a good one...ie.Are these crucial to making this decision or is this enough to say it''s a good one? I''ve attached a picture below.

Is this the JA stone you posted earlier?

You don''t necessarily need the angles, as it''s not on the GIA report. JA will provide you with an Idealscope image if you ask, and that''s a great way to judge light performance too.

It looks great, but the crown and pavilion angles would be useful please if you could post them. If the diamond is pre cut grade so no angles, ask JA if they can run a Sarin report and Idealscope image on the diamond to get that info.

I was told that this is eye clean by JA, and the custermer service was SO good that I really trust what he said (he told me that others I was looking at were not eye clean). But, with all you people being experts, and me not having looked at too many diamonds, is it difficult to imagine that these inclusions in the picture are not possible to see with the naked eye? They look so prominent, but I was told that they blend in when not magnified. Seeing this picture, would you guys have a hard time thinking it would be clean to the eye?

A fun way to check the real life size of a virtual diamond is to download the image and open it in photoshop/powerpoint/paint/whatever. Crop the image down so you have just a diamond in the square (no background), then set the size to the actual diamond size. For instance, on my screen your diamond has obvious clear inclusions, but is also almost 7 inches tall when in real life it''s probably closer to 7mm tall. Try it, it''s fun.


And if JA says it''s clean, and you guys agreed on what eye-clean was (4 inches from all sized with 20/20 vision or whatever) then try it. They have a good return policy.

Here's a more realistic view.

ETA: Open a new document and go to Insert/Picture/from file... and select your image. You may also be able to drag it from the desktop into the file. Enjoy!

This isn''t 7mm, but a little larger just so I could see more of the pattern in it. For some reason I am unable to upload a second pic of the other one I am looknig at, so will do so in another reply. They definitely look like they have different patterns going on. Can you judge the quality of the cut at all by looking at the patterns in the two I will post...or do you absolutely need the red white and black light of the idealscope?
