I have been looking at diamonds for a while now and have done a lot of research about a diamond such as whats a good color. clarity. cut. carat. crown height. crown angle. pavilion height. pavilion angle. total depth. table % Etc.. Im a perfectionist lol. I want to get the best with what money I have. So since im still new to diamonds I would like to ask you guys for help. On whether or not this is a good diamond and if not what i should look for.

Diamond:

Price: $4738

Carat: 1.00
Color: J
Clarity: VS2
Cut Grade: Excellent
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Fluorescence: None
Cutlet: none

Round Brilliant
Measurments: 6.42 - 6.44 x 3.97 (mm)
Table: 56%
Crown Height: 15.0%
Crown Angle: 35
Pavilion Height: 43.0%
Pavilion Angle: 40.8
Total Depth: 61.7%
Girdle: Med (3.5%)

This one has potential as the numbers look good. Do you have magnified images of the stone and an idealscope image or will they do these for you? VS2 is usually eyeclean, but I always recommend asking if the stone is eyeclean from the top and the sides unless it it going in a halo.

yes and yes. Although I'd make sure (still) that it's eye clean. It scored a 1.5 on the HCA and I personally like the dimensions especially the small table. If it's eye clean, I'd say this is a good option.

This is from Blue nile so i havent actually looked at it. but i know if i get it and i dont like it i can send it back. maybe they can email me picture or something.

I don't think they do pictures. But I don't really feel comfortable buying a diamond I can't see and especially one that can't get an idealscope on. I prefer vendors that provide these such as James Allen, Good Old Gold, and WhiteFlash.

this might be better

You're not at all interested in even knowing what it looks like first?? Buying a diamond online is risky enough and there's absolutely no way that I'd ever ever buy a diamond online without even seeing a picture of the stone!!!

if im unhappy with it i can always return it. A couple of my friends bought from blue nile and said they had to problem with the diamonds and if there was an issue they just simply returned it. Then blue nile made the changes and sent it back. Im going to call and talk to them tomorrow to find out if there is a way to view the diamond because it would save a lot of time lol.

Ding! Although I still wouldn't pay for something without seeing it. And I know for a fact, that they do not send out pictures or ideal scope images (something else we like to see before purchasing). I would save the time now and look for something else from a vendor who provides you will all of these at no cost or hassle.

It's easy to return diamonds to Blue Nile but you do have to cover the cost of insured return shipping.
