i made the payment but merchant said i can swap it before its shipped out
I asked for H&A pics but was told they r not cut specifically to H&A
will it be possible to see from the other pics on how good n sparkles this diamond will be?

my first expensive purchase (& Overseas!) so exchanges will be an issue for me later on. I will just keep what i buy (after receiving it)

Any comments r welcome!
Thank you

the diamond i bought (ard 5900 paid) Diamond 1.18K V strong Blue

i realised they have some promotion now. so if they allow me to utilise the promotion, i am thinking if i should upgrade to these diamonds.

http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/1.184-i-vs2-round-diamond-ags-bl-104073158002#!prettyPhoto[gallery2]/4/ love the i color, vs2 still within my acceptable range Diamond 1.184 i Medium Blue

http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/1.113-h-si1-round-diamond-ags-bl-104066186026#!prettyPhoto[gallery2]/4/ quite worried about the inclusions Diamond 1.113 H

if i get the i, i will have to top up almost 2k+. the diamond kind of exceed my original budget but the i looks nice! :wall:
shld i upgrade to the i?

based on Cuts alone, which one has the best cut? best chance of having a hearts & arrows? which one thats not so good?
Thank you

I honestly would just call them and discuss all stone options before the original stone ships out. They will be honest and frank with you in terms of color, clarity and cut quality. They have the stones there to look at first hand so I'm guessing they will be far more helpful than we could be. It would be nice if you were able to upgrade the color a bit. Fluorescence or lack thereof is a personal preference - sometimes helps negate color and the pricing is generally better for those stones.

I liked your original choice. K with strong blue fluor could face up a little whiter. Save the $2000+ and go with the diamond you picked out.

The effects of fluor are only seen under UV light (sunlight or black light) - it will have no effect in "normal" lighting (office, etc). If this is for an e-ring I'd definitely investigate higher color options (if that is a possibility) unless there is a specified desire for lower color. JMHO.

I don't see any evidence of a promotion on their website...what promotion are you talking about?

But what about this from the Brian Gavin website:

"It is generally agreed upon within the gemological community, that blue fluorescence improves the color of diamonds by offsetting any yellow tones which may be present. For example, if you were to compare two I-color diamonds side-by-side under the controlled lighting of a GIA Diamond Light in laboratory conditions, the I-color diamond with medium to very strong blue fluorescence would likely appear to be a hint whiter than the I-color diamond without fluorescence."

Sunlight is a kind of "normal" light. Many lightbulbs mimic sunlight, including the GIA diamond light used for grading.

Direct from the GIA website: "Fluorescence is the visible light some gemstones emit when they are exposed to invisible ultraviolet (UV) rays."

I'm just saying it is unwise to think that a lower colored stone w fluor will always face up whiter than it's lab graded color. Fluor is activated by UV light, as I said.

i have some credit with them lol

so thinking of upgrading or staying put.
i posted some Qns to them yesterday but unfortunately, i didnt get the answer via live chat. i thought i was supposed to see some msg as i but the chat window was closed instead as i informed that i will go n sleep but pose my Qns beforehand lol

i just realised the stone i bought has some additional green lines outside that <^> lines.... does this mean this diamond has more leakage on lights? less well cut?

Or this is normal? what a ex cut should be all about?

i saw that this has one or two green lines outside of the most inner circle. (the 1-2 green lines inside the 2nd circles). does this mean the diamond will have less light at these 2 points? This is a signature cut instead. said to be better because they r cut according to H&A while blue range isn't so

one of the pics showing the arrows (AEST???) the green portion is a lot on this diamond compared to the other two. is this a problem with camera/placement of the diamond or its a diamond cutting issue?

all these are so near to me and i did read through some of the articles explaining bat the idealscope, AEsT but still novice
Pls advise. Thank you for the help :wavey:8550_img_1144.jpg4443_img_1139.jpg3306_img_1152_1.jpg1257_img_1145.jpg
