We went to a store the other day and found a diamond that was pretty. It was nice and sparkly and seemed to have all the qualities that we wanted. We decided to make a deposit on it so we went home, and double checked all the figures again. Then we found a possible "problem." We noticed on the internet that given the same specs of everything else but depth and table, the diamonds where the table is lower than the depth were at least $1000 more than the ones where the table was greater than the depth. We brought this issue up to the store personnel and they informed us that nowadays, table percentage of 60 is great. He also mentioned something about a "Russian cut". The diamond was nice and sparkly, but when we compared it to another diamond that had a table percentage lower than it''s depth, it seemed to sparkle a little bit less in comparison. But then again I could have been biased with the given information and my preconceived notion that the latter diamond is of better quality. So what do you guys think? The diamond we were looking at had the following diamensions. Incidentally, we found the same diamond online, but almost $700 cheaper. Any opinions?
