Post the crown and pavilion angles. You do know that EGL grades soft?

Have you seen this stone in person? Is it eye-clean to your satisfaction?

what are you looking for and what is your budget? have you seen this diamond in person?

That "F SI2" may actually be H I2 or worse.
EGL grades are lies.
Shocking but true.

If there is no way to know the true color and clarity grades then there is no way to know how good of a deal it is.

Stick with stones graded by AGS or GIA.
You can know whether they are a good deal or not because you can believe their grades.

Worse, every purchase of an EGL stone supports what is IMHO fraud.

Sorry, duplicate post.

I am not a fan of EGL lab reports because the grading is inconsistent and so as a consumer you cannot determine value adequately. You cannot compare to other EGL graded stones, nor can you even readily compare to GIA or AGS by "transforming" your EGL specs as Kenny did in his example. The truth is, you simply do not know what your stone's characteristics are!

I can say that most likely, you will pay more for this diamond with is current EGL lab report than you would pay for this diamond if it was sent to GIA and had a GIA lab report. That is how the diamond market works and that is why cutters/vendors send their stones to EGL: To make a better proft. So my rule of thumb is just to stick with GIA and AGS because they value is a known commodity.

I didn't do that.
To quote myself, "That "F SI2" may actually be H I2 or worse."

I think the term "may" and the phrase, "or worse" made it clear there is no consistent "transformation" or conversion factor.

Thanks for all of your guys help. No I didn't realize the EGL graded soft. I have seen pictures and it looks eye clean. Definitely going to need to do more research. Thanks again!
