Long time lurker.

This raw non-certified Diamond is being sold by a gemonologist who is backing his appraisal up 100%. Even offered to send it to GIA.

1.56 ct Round Cut
G Color
I1 Clarity [ Completely Eye Clean, NO carbon. It does have very minor surface grain on two different parts of the Girdle, but only visible if held inches from the naked eye.

Diamond looks awesome and the seller has a reputation for grading really tough; meaning that this I1 has a high chance
of being an S12. But my guess is this diamond is a borderline strong I1/weak S12 hence the reason why he did not send it
in to GIA. What do you think??

Price is $6095.

Any input on this price greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

you don''t know the cut quality of this stone,so why take a chance? have him send the stone to GIA lab.

Do you think its naive to say that you can see whether the overall shape of the diamond is too deep or too shallow by the way it looks, sits in the setting, and compares to other GIA certified Ideal or Very Good cuts when looked at closely side by side? Thanks

I''d let him send it to the lab first since he has offered. There''s no way for you to be able to tell if your eyes are not trained. Not only that, you''ll need tools like the Idealscope and ASET, so don''t take the risk. Send it to the lab.
