Is this a fair price?

Okay guys, I've been reading your posts for a while now and beyond the great education I've received, I've been losing sleep. I just bought an e-ring and with all my knowledge now, I can't sleep well unless you guys tell me what you think of the stone. The specifics:

I bought this at what people tell me as a reputable dealer in San Francisco. I paid $14,000. Similar stones on pricescope are in the low to mid $13K range. Did I get a fair price??? Thanks...I look forward to sleeping.

That's a rather large stone for it's weight and you surely know by now if it is as bright as rounds can be. There is no way to tell that from the numbers you have posted... but there's no need for guessing either since you already have seen and liked it.

GIA's F?VS2 means no-ecuse clean and colorless with no room for surpises, details and comments... as far as I can tell.


I am not surprised that there was a bit of premium buying from a local shop - they need to make a living and a store costs way more than a PC

Besides, the upper limit of Pricescope prices for such a stone is nearly 17 k, not 13 k; for THIS

Similar cut pedigree but with GIA cert comes for 14 k from WF (for THIS). It does not sound like 1k difference makes the price "not fair".

I don''t mean this disrespectfully at all, Mister 1.54......but it''s kinda late now to worry about being a savvy diamond shopper, isn''t it? You''ve bought the ring. The time to do homework was pre-purchase.

Unless you''re really thinking of returning it, flogging yourself needlessly just doesn''t seem to be worthwhile. You paid a price that you felt was fair and bought a ring that you like. Relax and enjoy it.

Well I don't know why you'd be losing sleep after the fact... the stone is not termed an ideal cut....it could be a nice stone though it's hard to tell solely from these #'s, it's a white brilliant that looks slightly larger than it is due to the bigger table and smaller depth...., probably fair for what you paid at a B&M but if you have been reading here a while then you must know this already right?

Enjoy your stone OR get it appraised by an expert and hear what they have to say!
