Hi Guys,
Wondering if this is a fair price for this diamond?. Can you also comment on the quality of the diamond that I finally decided buy after a bit of research?.

Price: $11500 (Certified conflict free)
Shape: Round
Carat weight: 1.20
Cut: Excellent (GIA Excellent cut)
Color: G
Clarity: VS1
Certificate: GIA
Depth: 62.0%
Table: 55.0%
Polish: Excellent
Symmetry: Excellent
Girdle: Medium to slightly thick (Purposely chose this as I dont want a thin Girdle)
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 6.83*6.80*4.22
Crown angle: 34.5
Pavilion angle: 40.8

The big question is the cut- GIA XXX covers a wide range of cut quality- use the HCA tool and run the angles to see how the performance of the stone is...

Those angles he chose look great Amy :))

OP do you see the search tool at the top of the page? It will show you the price of comps from online vendors.

 I really on HCA as I don't know angle ranges off the top of my head.

The search took is great as you can plug in the specs of your stone and see comparables.

;)) I can't always tell some strange combinations, but others are pretty clearly "goodies".

I think its also important when we advise consumers not to scare them too much with the "GIA is a wide category" comments. I used to say that all the time, myself, before I had more experience looking at diamonds. I tend to think that GIA EX is reliable for picking nice stones for *most* consumers. The HCA weeds the field further for those of us who like an even more precise look. But its good to add that caveat, I personally think. You milage may vary 8) Nice to see you participating more in RT, too, AMY! :appl:

Thanks Guys!. Appreciate the help.
So according to the HCA tool it is rated : 1.3 within TLC range

Light Return Excellent
Fire Excellent
Scintillation Excellent
Spread
or diameter for weight Very Good

Using the online tool here are the only diamonds I found that has similar characteristics. The only differences are both of them seem to have more number of inclusions than the one I am buying.

http://www.eternitydiamonds.com/diamond_detail.php?id=628297 - $10,919

The only noticeable difference between the 3 I see is that mine is .03 diameter variation and the ones listed above are about .05. And these 2 are about $600 cheaper.

Number of inclusions is irrelevant with VS1 clarity grades, really. For comps don't limit to the exact measurments, just look at cut grade, color, clarity and carat. Your diamond is priced in line with comps.

Is there a reason you want VS1 clarity? You can save another $1500 or so dropping to VS2, which will be totally eye clean and even loupe clean in most cases at that carat weight.

Thanks Dreamer_D!. I actually started of with 1.2 carat, VVS2 and F based on a diamond listing that I liked. I dropped down to G/VS1 and for the same carat I saved about $2500 based on advise here on Pricescope. I am glad I did but I wanted to stay with G/VS1 range after examining some diamonds close with a loupe of VS2 clarity.

Also, after using the search tool I am still confused on the pricing of comps. Atleast in my search it seem to be all over the place. It is kinda hard to judge.

Well, as Dreamer stated that is a very well cut stone. Don't get too wrapped up in the comps- you are using them- as Dreamer said- to see what price range stones with the same lab and grading are selling for. That allows you to know if you are being "ripped off" in terms of price.

Finally, the Diamond arrived. Here is a pic of it. Thanks for all the help in choosing this guys. Much Appreciated.
