Hello everyone,

I visited a jewelry store in town in regard to selling three of my rings. Unfortunately, my husband has decided he would rather spend time with another woman. Therefore, I no longer feel a need to keep the rings he purchased for me throughout our relationship. I have listed some information about the rings below. The offer that I received for all three rings was a total of $1500. I am wondering if you believe this is a fair price or I should continue visiting other stores. I hope it's okay to make a post like this in this forum. Your feedback is greatly appreciated.

Here is what is listed about my rings in their appraisals...

14kt white gold custom-designed engagement ring set with twenty-two round brilliant accent diamonds, all with G color and SI clarity, with a total accent diamond weight of .51cts. The center gemstone is a fine quality 1.25ct oval pink sapphire. Here is the link to it on Pricescope: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/my-pink-sapphire-ering.93908/

14kt white gold custom-designed ring set with one 1.02ct cushion-shaped diamond, EGL certification, with E color and VS2 clarity

Tiffany's Paloma Sugar Stack Ring - 8ct citrine stone in 18kt gold. Here is the link to the Tiffany's ring: http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/Item.aspx?fromGrid=1&sku=GRP00429&mcat=148204&cid=287466&search_params=s+5-p+3-c+287466-r+101323339-x+-n+6-ri+-ni+0-t+

Thank you again!

I am sorry for your troubles that lead to selling your rings.

Have you thought about listing them separately on DiamondBistro or ebay? The Tiffany ring retails for $2400 so even at 50% off, you'd be at $1200 for that ring alone. OakGem is a vendor that buys and sells Tiffany pieces as well so you might want to try that route.

That ring combined with a one carat cushion should net more than $1500 I would think. You won't get anywhere near retail but I don't think I'd sell all three combined for $1500. I'd rather try to sell them separately and see how it goes.

i think you may get more for the set by listing on diamond bistro or putting it on consignment. Just off hand. 1500 seems low, IMO.

I am so sorry to hear that, hope you are strong. Sending you lots of dust and hugs....

Regarding the questions, I think you might would like to put on DB and link to our Prelove ? that would be get better price.

I'm really sorry about your situation, wishing you strength during such a difficult time.

I too think it's worth a try to list them on diamond bistro and post in the PS pre-loved section. Also wouldn't hurt to check with other jewelers. $1500 for all three sounds low to me.

Thank you, everyone! I really appreciate your feedback and support.

For your e-ring, do you know if it is a natural sapphire and if it has been treated in any way?

Knowing the limited info we do about them, here's how I would price them:

Sapphire ring: $800 (More if it's a natural untreated sapphire and you have the paperwork to prove it. You could start out at more anyway to see if you could get it, but the demand for pink sapphire rings is lower than that for diamond rings.)
Diamond cushion ring: $3000
Tiffany: $1200

You could list them in the preloved forum and on DB and LoupeTroop and see if they sell that way within a specified period of time (and you can lower the price periodically if you want to), and then if they don't, put them on consignment. We can recommend plenty of good places to do that. If you want them gone right away, though, shop them around to different places, and do so individually, not as a lot.

I agree with the previous posters.

I'm sorry about your ex(?) husband's bad behavior :nono:

Sending you hugs at this difficult time! I also agree with everyone else, too low of an offer.

You've heard it from everyone else, but I'll say it too... I think it's a low offer and that you would have much more luck selling yourself if you don't have an immediate need for the cash.

I'm sending dust, strength and positive energy your way as well.

I understand what you mean when you say you no longer have a need for them and just want to get rid of them. Unfortunately, some jewelers use that as a way to cheat you out of what you deserve. Which is way more than they offered you. The suggestions made here are a perfect way for you to do just that and maybe treat yourself to something nice or a little get away for yourself. I am sorry you are going through this. Hugs and dust too.

I think that might be fair from a jeweler, they need to make money on them too. You'd get more money cutting out the jeweler and selling them yourself or on consignment rather than selling them out right. If it were me, I'd try my hand on the DB.

I have nothing constructive to add to the already appropriate advice you have already received - sell privately off of DB or Loupe Troop first, then consign as required. Don't sell thru the jeweller you spoke with - he's just low balling you.

I do want to wish you the best of luck during this next phase... Stay as close to good friends as possible - rely on them and on your own inner strength. You will get thru this better than you think you can - but it will be rough, unfortunately. {{{HUGS}}} thru the miles and lots and lots of dust too! Good luck, sourstars :halo:
