over the weekend, I came upon this estate diamond tennis bracelet for dirt cheap. It is 14k yellow gold and I esp love the style bc it is sooo comfy and I can actually wear it without having to worry about damaging the stones. The diamonds are champagne and have decent sparkle. I do like the bracelet. BUT I have a bench who can swap out the stones for fairly cheap. I'm toying with the idea of buying better melee and swapping them out. Does this sound like a crazy idea? Even after the labor and melee, the bracelet would still be less expensive than a brand new one. Also, is this style dated? Would love to hear your comments. image_3022.jpg

I like the bracelet. I don't know if the style is dated or not, but I have a vintage tennis bracelet that is similar in that the diamonds are set in square bezels and not prongs and it is much more comfortable than my prong set bracelet. I work at a computer alot and the prongs seem to poke into my wrist when I'm typing. As far as switching the stones, I can't answer that for you. If you really want whiter stones, then I think you could go for it if you will save a fair amount over the cost of a new bracelet. But if the photo is a good representation, it looks good to me the way it is so keeping it that way would work for me.

Thank you for replying. The picture is very accurate. These little stones seem to have a very good sparkle, like a twinkle, but they don't pop...it's more like a subtle twinkle, which I do appreciate.

Then I would probably keep it the way it is. You said you got it for a steal. Why remove those diamonds and pay more, abeit less than a new bracelet would cost. Keep the money for the upgraded stones and if you really want a bracelet with whiter diamonds then put the money toward that. You saw something in this bracelet that your liked enough to buy. It wasn't expensive. I'd keep it and appreciate it for what it is.

I would keep it as is. It is   :cheeky: Just keep the funds for the next bling..... by the way, missy, seems like you are on a bling spree :naughty: I am just a tad jealous!! =) I need to go shopping with you and find dirt cheap blings!! I am never that lucky :blackeye:

LOL! I wish that I wasn't such a bargain hunter and could be disciplined enough to save for one big piece, but these deals keep finding me! On a side note, I saw Singlestone rings in New Orleans! They were on display at a high-end jewelry store. Now that would be a bling spree, buying just one of these!!!

To me it is dated...anything princess screams 90's, but that's me.

Yep, I know what you mean. I am always finding deals at the most broke moment and since I am always buying something, I am always broke...

That's a retro style for sure. I remember when it was the "new" style. LOL I think it was called the Bar style or something to that effect. It rivalled the S style. LOL Would I change it out? Nah...leave it be. Of course, if the style is something you've hoped to have in your permanent collection, might be worth swapping stones otherwise I would leave it as is. ;)

Another vote for leaving the stones as they are, but I would consider rhodium plating it to bring it a little more into the 20th century! :cheeky:

And good for you for finding a fabulous bargain!!!

If you love the current diamonds, keep it. But I cannot see any purpose in buying it and then paying for new stones. Just wait and find another second hand bracelet that you like better!
