i dont know what you mean. similar diamonds of the same cut, clarity, color, and carat weight on the same website are 500 dollars more expensive. is there something in the breakdown that is a red flag for such a difference in price?

Go to http://facetware.gia.edu and enter your proportions. It gives VG and not EX.

I do wonder about the depth of 63%. Did you compare diameter of a similar weight?

The diamond is cut quite deep, so doesn''t face up (or look) quite as big as it could for its carat weight.

This could account for some of the difference in price, as could the faint blue fluorescence.

The fluorescence doesn''t detract from the appearance of the stone, but tends to make them cheaper.

In its favour, it''s a firey ideal cut with a lovely small table.

It''s a little on the deep side, but still scored a 1.3 on the HCA. The spread only rated a "good" due to the depth.

Generally it is thought that fluorescence should be medium blue or more to make a difference to apparent colour... but it''s not an exact science.

A great cut will make a diamond appear whiter, for sure!

Some of the experts seem to think that medium and more likely strong blue fluorescence may make a diamond face up a little whiter, but it can depend. With slight or faint blue, you may not notice any effect from it. Could you get an Idealscope for this stone? The vendor might have one available if you request one, and they are often useful in judging a diamond.
