...in the ocean? FI and I are leaving for a 2-week vacation in Hawaii tomorrow. I''m planning to wear a new silver necklace (with drops of pink topaz and lemon quartz). I''m not that worried about losing it (not a big investment), just the issue of the saltwater effecting the silver/stones.

Sorry if this is a kind of daft question, but I daydreamed my way through high school Chemistry

salt water can be corrosive and pit the necklace, but I am not sure how much exposure you would need to do that...

Is there any similar concern for gold/white gold/platinum? Or are those metals not as corrosive?
