Is there a visible difference between 1 point & 1/2 point melee?

When melee stones get so small as 1/2 point of 1 point, is there really a visible difference between the 2 sizes? I''ve never seen 1/2 point melee before.

very tough to see but most micropave is done with half pointers. here is a thread where I asked about same question.
