Is there a difference between these two rings?

Hello,
I was just wondering if any one knows whether or not the ring in this post: http://www.whiteflash.com/Wedding_Bands/Halo-Wedding-Band_1004.htm. That makes me think that the two styles must have the same shank.

One more thing... does anyone know of any reason why the wf pave legato setting head/basket could not be made the way that the legato sleek line setting is? http://www.whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Solitaire/-Legato--Sleek-Line_1118.htm. Specifically, I am referring to how on the legato sleek line, the two sides of the shank come up further on the swoopy basket that holds the diamond, whereas on the pave version, the head seems to be less incorporated into the ring and just sits on top of the band.

I am not quite in the market for an e-ring at this time, but I hope to be one day and I just LOVE this setting. Just curious...

You can ignore the first part of the question b/c I pretty much have concluded that the band on the halo setting and the band on the legato micro pave setting are the same.

But, how about the second question???

why not just call or email WF and ask them? they would be able to tell you specially what the custom changes were on the posters ring you linked.

Well, I don''t want to bother them with those questions when I am not going to be making a purchase on an e-ring anytime soon. Just wanted to see if anyone on here knew anything about it. No worries, like I said, I think I pretty much figured out the answer to my own question.

well, looking at the pics, my guess it the stock legato ring is what the poster did as semi-custom.

i''m sure WF could easily modify the legato to add the sleek line''s head if you prefer. it would probably be semi-custom and the price may change a bit.

Thats what I think too after looking more closely at the two settings descriptions on wf''s website. Do you know if there is a name or some terminology to describe the way the legato sleek line shank comes up higher on the basket? Is it called cathedral? Or is cathedral typically a higher setting? Is there a name for the way the way the head of the micro pave legato just kinda sits on top of the band?

the slope of the band coming up to the basket on the sleek lines is what they call a cathedral. I''m not sure if there is an offical name of rings that just sit on top. Some are made with a peg head but others are not.
