THOUGHTS???

Hi Metro!

You would certainly notice the difference in size between these two stones. See here for an idea of the comparison.

The medium blue fluorescence of the second stone might help to make it look whiter than it is. Most people can notice some warmth in a J colour stone - but if you know you are ok with this then it's not a problem.

Has the vendor confirmed both stones are eye clean?

**ETA** Are they both from the same vendor? Maybe you could get a photo or video of them next to each other.

From personal experience, I CAN see a 0.5 mm difference even when the stones aren''t side by side. However, going from a G to a J... depending on your tolerance, you might see the tint in the J. A medium blue fluoro isn''t going to help much unless it''s a strong blue.

.93 seems like the better stone.

But I do like the larger size. What size is the finger and person who''ll be wearing it. Maybe it would be the better fit.

I know that my 1 ct. is just right, if not ta tad big - size 4.25 ring size.

I''ve tried on stones in similar sizes and definitley noticed the size diff.

my stone is a 1.23 and I tried on a .9 when I was ring shopping and I definitely noticed a size difference.

Thanks all for your replies!

Cleo - I have the 0.93 stone but I''m "entertaining" the idea of going bigger w/o hurting my wallet too much. I haven''t recieved any information yet on the larger, but waiting for an email from the vendor with all the money shots - so to speak

I did see a J at WF yesterday. The stone did not have any fluoro and though I could clearly see a difference in color, compared to my G - it was a beautiful stone and I would take a J in a heartbeat!

Chrono - I had no idea that only a strong blue makes a difference in a J''s apprearance! I''ll take that into consideration. Thanks!

lisa1.01fvs1 - My finger size is a 3. I use to think that a 1-carat looked HUGE on my hand, but now that I''ve upgraded, it''s amazing how fast the shrinkage sets in

. Not to mention that I''ve been comparing it to my halo

(posting pic - the halo is a 0.52 stone)

Angel7 - I was wondering if there really a visual difference. Looking at the measurements, it doesn''t seem to be much at all.

I definitely think that you would notice a size difference. The price difference isn''t too bad, but the .93 you have looks like a very nice stone. Wait and see what the vendor comes up with and go from there!

it still won''t look at big as your halo, but the size difference should be noticeable.

i have a 1ct that faces up smaller than your .93ct (only 6.04mm), but i don''t really notice an obvious jump in size next to a full carat (6.30-40mm).

i guess it depends on what you want out of an upgrade. are you planning on continuously upgrading until you reach a specific size? do you have a good upgrading policy with your preferred vendor?

i thought about upgrading from my 1ct to a 1.20-30 stone, but decided the increase in size wasn''t ''satisfying'' for me. i really want something in the 1.50-60ct range, so i''ve decided to save up until i can reach my goal. and when i finally do take the plunge, the size jump will be substantial. i know other PS''ers who enjoy incremental upgrades, but for me, i really want that ''wow'' effect. once i find the perfect stone, i''m having it placed in a classic LM solitaire setting, so it doesn''t make sense for me to keep changing stones and settings/heads. this is because i''m fundamentally lazy and hate shipping jewelry or visiting jewelers!

And with the 1ct. you''ve entered that "magical" zone and I''m sure the wallet will too

Yah, I think you'd notice a slight (half a mm) difference, but do you think you might want to upgrade again? I understand this DSS all too well

If you think that's your stopping point then it may be worth it, but if you think you may want to go even bigger in the future, I'd wait(this is what I'm doing now).

Your new stone is so beautiful. Really, just lovely!
