Its your coin, you have a right to spend it how you wish.
Most people on this forum would consider a D,IF to be a waste of money because you could buy a lower color and lower clarity for much less money and not tell the difference.
Best of luck.

Thanks for your reply! Yeah I was looking at E and VVS1 and this one really caught my eye... I saw a cheaper one that was half the cost but it got taken while I was looking for a setting :(

There are many PS vendors, why don't you tell them what you want and budget and see what they come up with. You can post the specs on this forum and the experts (not me) will tell you what they think.

I ran a quick PS diamond search with your diamond's specs, and based on the 3 results, the price is quite fair for a 1.05ct D-IF cushion.

However, I would urge you to contact JA as soon as possible to request an Aset image of your diamond, *before* it is shipped, so you have a good idea of what kind of performance to expect... me personally, regardless of the amount of money spent on a diamond, I would prioritize cut quality / diamond performance -- translation: a diamond with high color and high clarity still may not be cut well enough to have a top-quality diamond performance (edge-to-edge brilliance, great light return, great scintillation, etc.).

If the Aset does not bear out that this particular cushion has a great light performance, you may wish to cancel the order and start your search again.

Thanks! I'm asking for one as I'm typing this message, I'll post it here ASAP. Thank you everyone for being such a big help.

You NEED an ASET of the stone to evaluate light performance. When you get the image, post it here so we can see.

Also, you got a cream of the crop stone, a rare stone indeed at D/IF. Nice stone, yes, but two properties our eyes dont appreciate too well, unless of course you NEED to have those two specs. You could drop in color and clarity (F-G VS1), get a larger stone if you want, or same size, and come out on top!

I agree with the others.

If your priority is D If, this seems like a fair price. However, I'm not sold on the cut, and if your priority is more just "colorless, with high clarity" you could drop down just a tad on those two Cs to go up on the other 2 Cs (carat and cut)
