Is Storm (strmrdr) no longer a pro-sumer?

In the thread(s) about Storm and Diagem's and Rhino's new asscher cut, Storm mentioned his new signature line, "Karl has joined the Diamond Trade as a Diamond Designer!!!"

This means that Storm will be responding to threads as a member of the trade now and following the PS guidelines for the vendors/trade, right, and not as a free-wheeling pro-sumer?

While I'm thrilled for Storm and wifey2b, I'm also a little sad to lose Storm's sage advice as a pro-sumer.

And I wanted to take a minute to say thank you, Storm, for all the times you've answered my questions in your role as a pro-sumer! I'll miss you as a pro-sumer, but wish you much joy and luck in your new venture!

And I look forward to your posts as a member of the trade.

I am an Independent Diamond Designer working for myself.
I am not working for any one PS vendor but may work with them on diamond designs/production from time to time.


I has been a huge pleasure learning and helping out here as a pro-sumer and I am looking forward to continuing to help as a trade member.
My PS role will be along the lines of what Garry does.

Can you tell us exactly what you won't be doing any more given your new status? not that huge of a change as I have been moving towards a more professional posting style for a while now. Some tweaks here and there will be required. I can still answer questions and clarify technical issues which is mostly what I have been doing for a while now anyway.

Consumer protection will always be a huge deal to me no matter what I am doing.
That is one of the reason I put off going into the trade so long.
It had to be a position where I could still help consumers.
I will always work for improved consumer protection.
There are wonderful people in the diamond trade who do their best to serve consumers and I want to work with them.

In a lot of ways the industry is in transition and I am very excited to be part of that change.
The diamond trade of tomorrow is not going to be the diamond trade of yesterday.

I don''t think that this will be an issue because the vendors who Karl is likely to work with and those who are likely to work with Karl are also likely to share the same concerns regarding consumer protection and integrity.
