Is N color too low, and what''s a fair price?

Hi, I''m thinking of purchasing a 1.96ct N VS2 OEC, but was wondering what would be a fair price for it, and what is everyone''s opinion on the N color? It comes with an EGL USA cert. I think I like a little bit of warmth in the older cuts, but have never seen an N color stone, so I''m not sure if it''s too warm. I recently got a K color which I love, and now I''m bitten by the old cut bug.

Any opinions would be appreciated, as well as any pics of N color stones. Thanks in advance for your advice!

You will definitely see some warmth. Whether it''s too much for your taste is something only you can say. This is a diamond you will have to see in different lighting conditions to make a reliable decision.

Hi,
Is there any way you can see some N (or closely colored stones) in person. I would suspect it would be difficult to see determine if an N is too warm for you based on seeing pictures on the computer screen.

I think an N in an older stone would be lovely. GOG has a 1.59 N old miner cut. Its color on my screen looks lovely...but like MC said...hard
to tell on a screen. GOG also has a video comparing some lower color stones one being an old cut N that it wouldnt hurt to see. But when
it comes down to it I think you got to see some in person. The fact that you own a K and love it is a good sign that an N will also float your boat!

Thank you, Glitterata, Mc, and tyty. The video link and the stone link to GOG was very helpful. I''ll just have to try to find some N color stones in person before I decide. Thank you again.

Hi there!

It doesn''t sound like you have seen the stone in person. If so, is there a chance that you can arrange to do that or purchase it with an inspection period? With antique cuts, diamonds of the same color will actually face up differently - some white, some ivory, some warm, and some with a tint of another color (often brown).

Good luck!

Ditto, it sounds lovely but it would be best if you could see this particular one in person if possible for the reasons Erica mentioned, maybe they will send it to you on approval?
