Hi All,

New to the forum but reading lots for the past couple months.

I just received my ring from BN and was wondering if you guys could give me some opinions on it based on the #s. I spent a lot of time looking for the right dimensions but when I received the ring, the diamond was only sparkly in certain light. I want to know if this is due to the lighting or the cut of the diamond. Also, if the diamond is already in the setting is it too late to have it checked out in an idealscope?

Here are the specs:
2.03 ct G VS1
ex ex ex
No fluoresence

table: 58%
Depth: 60.3%
Crown angle: 33.0%
Pav angle: 41.0%

HCA: 0.8

Thanks for any help!

Can you take pictures of the ring?

There are a lot of posts with other people asking if it is normal that their diamonds do not sparkle like crazy in direct sunlight or under fluorescent lights, etc. If it isn't blinding you under all lighting conditions, that's normal. Is your diamond still attractive when it's hibernating? If so, I wouldn't worry too much about it— you might be like me where you obsessed for so long you are second guessing yourself because there MIGHT be a "better diamond" out there :P Hope you end up either loving what sounds like a beautiful stone or getting one you think is absolutely perfect :)

Should be a nice white brilliant stone. Diamonds reflect the light and color of the setting they are in - doesn't mean they flash and shine all the time. Would love to see some pictures of your ring!

Have you thought about getting it vetted/appraised for cut quality? This is me to a T. I have always just bought from vendors that has vetted stones (GOG, Whiteflash, Brian Gavin etc) but just a couple weeks ago, I bought my first stone from BN. I obsessed over cut, performance, flo, steep and deep, in diffused light, bright lights, bright sunlight, kitchen, garden, car, bathroom ...drove myself nuts!! So I just decided to send it off to be vetted by an appraiser. Neil Beaty did a sarin, H&A image, ASET, IS and just basically had the stone in hand while speaking to me on the phone and answering all my crazy questions. He was amazing  So now I can make an informed decision and have peace of mind!! :D

Crown is low. Prefer crowns over 34 and under 35.5
