I just got a price match from 2 vendors for a small custom project. Is it wrong to go back to the first vendor and inform them that their quote was matched? Same exact specs.
TIA!

Its probably not wrong and I guess it couldnt hurt to ask. They''ll either tell you that that price
is the best they can do or they may be able to shave a little more off. I''m always of the mind
that everyone has to make some money so as long as I was comfortable with the
price I would have the vendor I liked the best (got along with, had confidence in, etc) do the
job. (I''m not as hard core as some people are though

Yes Tigian I also agree with tyte, I would go with who you liked best and just tell them someone else matched their quote, can''t hurt

Thanks for your input tyty and Monnyjay. The only thing is that this is my first project and I really don''t have experience with either vendors. Both have great reviews on PS though. I''m really torn on how to make a decision.

You wouldn't even have to tell them. It would be nice to give them a heads up though and thank them for their hard work, but you decided to go with another vendor. I get quotes from multiple vendors all the time and I think this is common practice...

Agreed, I don''t feel comfortable trying to haggle price down too much, especially on custom piece not that they wouldn''t do a good job, but I don''t want to have to feel that they might cheat me somewhere else. so go with whom you feel most comfortable working with , espeically if you''ve worked with them before, and know their work.
