Is it true Platinum prices are at an all time low now?

Is now the time to buy platinum? A jeweler told me a few months ago that platinum prices are really low now because platinum is used for catalytic converters in cars, and car sales have been so slow. Is this accurate?

Also, is there a website that lists current market prices per ounce for gold and platinum? Thanks!

This site is more for if you are interested in actual Gold and Platinum as investments. meaning buying bullion which is 10 oz''s per bar.

However, I dont know that it directly reflects though what a jewelry store will sell that metal price for, since technically they purchased it at a different price and it has already been created in to a ring. Perhaps they are saying that if you are comissioning a new ring and they have to purchase the metal. Not sure there.
