My custom ring from Whiteflash is designed to be 1.8 to 1.9 mm width on the shank. Is that average? I will have a wedding band with it soon.
My fingers are a size 7, not chubby but long fingers!
Here''s the CAD. Changes I have made are: more rounded edges on the halos and I have made sure that the three halos will sit on top of my finger and not anywhere close to being in between.

ribrown - beautiful design!

i''m not sure about what is average, but today''s trend is toward thinner shanks (at least on PS it is). i say wear what looks good on your hand, and what you love.

that being said, i am no expert however i would personally be concerned about going as thin as 1.8-1.9mm on a three-sided pave band. my understanding is that three-sided pave already weakens the shank because of all the holes that are drilled out of it for the pave. have you asked WF their opinion on this? i know not long ago they would not go below 2.0mm for a shank for reasons of durability, but i know of another PSer who was also able to convince them to go under 2mm. will you be wearing this ring every day? are you hard on your hands/rings?

stop me if i''m wrong, but i think it depends on what metal you''ll be using. i''m no metallurgical engineer, but i would assume that would make a difference if you choose platinum, gold, titanium, palladium, tungsten, or otherwise. ...and, within those metal options, what metals they would be mix them with. i believe 950 platinum is only 95% platinum. i think there are three main metals that they can use for the other 5%. each would change the strength, durability, scratch resistance, etc.

oh, and... thumbs up on the design.

Your ring is going to be stunning!

I had a halo ring that was 2mm wide with 3 sided pave and I had no problems with it and it was white gold. I think it will be fine and I can''t wait to see more pictures!!

I''m kind of confused about Whiteflash making a 3 sided pave ring that is 1.8 - 1.9 mm wide becausethey told me that they could not do it for my ring due to durability issues

. I really wanted the band to be no more than 2mm wide but they told me it had to be atleast 2.5mm.....strange....

Mmmmm, tasty

I think that as the three sided pave isn''t all the way around, it will hold up. Also I suspect that the three heads add some structural integrity to the ring.

I love it as designed, it''ll be a stunner

Lucky you!
