Mom broke her upper thigh bone Tuesday. Had partial hip replacement Tuesday, they oversadated her so even two days later she''s still severly hallucinating. Grandpa fell broke same bone today. He''s 93. They don''t know if they can operate, we find out tomorrow. Aunt came up from LA in a panic due to these surgeries. Had horrible abdominal pain when she got here. Might have tumor in her intestines (she had most of them removed 10 years ago, due to cancer). Plus the company she works for went bankrupt, put in recievership. Might be out of a job next Friday.

I totally feel what you''re going through. I sprained an ankle, my father is on bed-rest because he triggered his slip-disk and he is flying down here next week...but at this moment can''t even walk to the washroom on his own. Two deaths in my friend''s families, brother and mother both have a flu (possibly swine, apparently) with 105F (!!!!!) fever for 4 days and all this in a weekend. Ugh. Sometimes I just want things to STOP. So here''s hoping for you that things just STOP happening.

Hope you have a good night''s rest. It''s always better tackling things with a fresh mind and body.

No real updates this morning. I''m leaving work at around 1pm. Will go to the hospital(s) myself and see what''s going on. Everyone was being tested on this morning. So no verdicts.

I''m hoping things improve soon too. I''m thinking of taking Monday off. I may just do it.

what a mess! i''m so sorry your family is going though this right now. how is your mom? has she been able to throw off the sedation/anaesthesia somewhat? and how is your grandfather? do they know if they can operate yet?

and i''m sorry to hear of your aunt and her job/health issues. i hope you can get some news when you go to the hospital and some idea of where each situation is heading. this is like a year''s worth of stress in one week. pls take care of you; it''s exactly at times like these that you''re gonna pick up a bug of some sort, or be distracted and injure yourself in some way.

My grandfather’s surgery went well, thank goodness. He is out of recovery now and resting. My mother’s doctors seem to have overcome issue that were causing her complications, and her head CT was negative for any fractures, so her outlook is positive. I am the holder of both their durable power of attorney’s so this week was difficult and challenging as I had to make a lot of tough decisions and calls when other’s in my family were unable to or just not in the emotional place to do so. But that seems to be behind us, and I have more familial re-enforcements arriving on Sunday to assist with their on-going care, and have requested that they be transferred to the same facility for ease of care. My aunt is stabilized and out of the hospital, and will be following next week with her normal doctors (who have her full medical history) next Friday in LA. I also called my cousin and he will be going to LA on Saturday of next week to check on her.

John got a call for a job interview next week. So... maybe the winds of change are a-blowing. Here''s hoping.

It''s been a pretty draining day for me, honestly. And I''m just... done. But I am home, with my cats. My family appears to be stabilized for the night. And I have tomorrow ''off'' from all duties, both work and familial.

And I arranged a three day vacation for the end of the month as frankly, I rather desperately need one.

Thank you all for the positive thoughts and prayers and support. You are truly some of the best friends anyone could ask for. And I so appreciate everything you do.
