That can't be answered for sure without seeing the ring but in general yes.
Usually the type of ring that can be reshanked is a good candidate for resizing.
The ring I'm wondering about is a solitaire setting (I think it's called a peg head setting(??), so you can use whatever size diamond). I know they cut the ring in two places to replace the shank, but didn't know if cutting the reshank itself in the middle would effect the structural integrity of the ring.
Although your jeweler will probably be able to see the small clues that the ring was reshanked, this is something that you would discuss with him so that he can take additional care when sizing the ring and if necessary protect the joints where the reshanking was done.
As in all jewelry projects, the better your communication with your jeweler, the better the final result will be.
