is it safe to buy this diamond just by looking at AGS report?

The report looks good. Is it safe to buy based on AGS report or should I have it GIA certified first?
I am mainly concerned about the color grade. Will GIA grade it lower than the AGS?
what do you think about the idealscope image?
For the same price, would you buy this one over another with F color but VG cut?

Most folks around here would consider an AGS cert superior to or just as good as a GIA cert. No need for another cert.

The numbers and idealscope look great to me.

I doubt that having GIA look at it will give you any new info. I don''t think you need to be worried about the G color, and with a VS1 clarity -- nothing to worry about there either. If you''ve been researching here, you know that cut is the most important C. So, I would definitely choose this stone over the F color with VG cut.

Too answer the ? in the topic..NO but an AGS report and an IS image is reasonably enough information. Unless your looking for h&a then you need a heart image.

As far as color and clarity grading its 6 of one half dozen of the other AGS vs GIA.
They each have their strong points.

It looks like a nice stone.

help! my husband is concerend about the safety of transaction. Does jamesallen have a BM store? should i be concerned about them not sending me the diamond after i wire the money? or the diamond is not what it says it is? or that they won''t give me a refund if I return it?

James Allen has an impeccable reputation here at Pricescope and you have nothing to worry about at all. They have many, many satisfied customers here.

If you are worried about the diamond itself, then get an independent appraisal before it is set just to put your mind at rest.

Jim has been around a long time and has 10s of thousands of satisfied customers.
A report here of a bad deal can result in millions of dollars in lost sales.
Check them out with the BBB also.
If I was buying from JA I wouldn''t have a problem wiring the money.
Also not that it will be needed but the feds take a very dim view of wire fraud.

You could also have the diamond sent to an independent appraiser if one is near you then look at it in person or take it for an appraisal when you get it.

Wawa, that looks like a gorgeous stone, you may have found the one! Also no worries with wire transfer, JA are completely trustworthy. AGS are one of the top tier labs, and a grading report from them is highly desirable.

I would have no problem buying a stone by the AGS report IF it was an AGS Ideal, 0 light performance, and was in the colourless range, and in the VS clarity or higher. (I am colour sensitive so would need to see anything graded lower for colour. And I am obsessive about inclusions so would want to confirm eyeclean).

this could be it then. your inputs are very valuable to me. regarding ring setting, i was going to pick a 0.8 carat side stone halo? setting.... but someone said with a stone this size and brilliance, it''s better to do a solitaire so it will not overshadow the middle stone. what do you all think?

Personally, I would let a 3.2 carat diamond with an AGS0 cut grade stand alone, so it''s full glory can be seen, rather than adding a halo. But it is up to you how you would prefer to set that baby!

Oh my, I think with a beautiful, AGS0 Ideal cut diamond of over three carats I would just have to put it in a simple solitaire and let it take centre stage!

An incredible diamond like that doesn''t need any extra help in my opinion... it will have enough WOWWWWW factor all of its own!

Just my humble opinion of course - you should do what ever you like best with your amazing diamond... as long as you promise to post photos!!!

Negligible means just slightly more than none whatsoever, but not enough to call it faint, I believe!

In other words it has a really really miniscule amount. Almost none, but not quite.

It will have absolutely zero impact on the stone whatsoever, I promise.
