Um....I think it''s fine. Do what you gotta do. I don''t see anyone complaining about Maisies several upgrades and setting changes. Everyone is totally entitled to have exactly what they desire.

For me, I am attached to my FI''s choice although it is not what I would have picked....then again I am not running full speed to change it. *sets down glass of wine*....

just my opinion dearee''s, sorry if I offend.
I wonder if nobody openly criticises me because its not my actual engagment ring that I am changing. I still have that ring and its hugely sentimental to me. I do still wear it.

I have had comments about ''underlying issues'' when I made one of my changes. I don''t take it personally now, although I did at the time. I don''t have any issues apart from the size of my diamond lol! I would love a bigger one, and I will one day.

As am I. I''m like a ring stalker of your ring & a few others around here! (WestJenn''s ring is very close to my first e-ring love.)

So, out of idle bleary-eyed work-avoiding curiosity ... what *would* you have chosen yourself? Sigh. I can''t think of anything more lovely ... excepting perhaps a certain Deco-ish e-ring of which I''m quite fond myself.

ETA: Of course its natural to crush on other people''s rings & new styles as you discover them. Practically though there are just countless things in life that we can love & want & are ''so us'' but not enough time & $$$ to actually OWN most of them.

I probably would have gone with a bezel or something modern (jeff cooper).

The thought of something else just doesn''t feel right to me now. lol In fact my bridal jewelry will be art decoish....

Seriously, I see rings on here all the time that I really love, but, I love mine most, because it's ME, and that's why I don't feel any need to change it. All you need to do is think about what setting says 'you'. If it's what you have, great, you're done. If you realize it's something else (but no cheating

), then change it, after you've sat on it a bit. Not literally though.

I think this is one of the wisest things I have read on PS. As a chronic resetter (and stone changer!) myself, you've just helped me to decide what I want. Also what someone else said about it fitting your lifestyle etc.

To the OP, I think you should get what you *want*. The trick is sorting out what that is!

I just got my ring reset last month. I initally had a round solitaire and changed it to a six prong head with diamonds on the side but only halfway. Now my friend just reset hers to a full eternity band and I am coveting that now and considering changing it to that. I just like how even if the band moves on her finger there is always diamonds to see.

Is that crazy? I may call my jeweler today to see if she will let me trade in my setting for the new one (not even sure if she''ll do that, though).

I attached a pic of my current setting.
love the halfway setting

All shall be revealed! Seriously, I keep applying what you said to all the many and varied settings I love and I keep coming back to just one!

Yay!

Thanks! I needed to hear some sense. I am leaving my setting alone. I do love it, I do! I just loved hers too and thought maybe, but it''s silly. I will just focus on my wedding band now.

I think that''s a good idea. And just another opinion from someone who had an eternity band....I wouldn''t do it, not for everyday e-ring wear....maybe in a band I could take off when I wanted. My originaly e-ring had eternity, and I actually didn''t specify that I wanted it that way, the designer just chose that for me. Anyways, I really did love it at first, but I was constantly paranoid about hitting the ring and losing stones etc...it just wasn''t practical. I was also worried about sizing issues further down the road. So I had the setting re-done to only partial eternity. Also, I just made sure my ring fit well so there isn''t lots of spinning to reveal the non-diamond side. I''m really glad that I got rid of the eternity.
