Is it possible to reset the stone higher?

Gorgeous ring! I think adjusting the prong tips will definitely help. Also, it may seem a little lower to you because you have side stones competing with your line of vision. The old solitaire setting only had the center stone to focus on. Just an opinion. I really like the new setting though! Try slimming the tips and see if that helps. I am ditto''ing the above advice that as you become adjusted to the new look, it won''t seem so drastically lower. If after the prong slimming/couple weeks adjustment time it still looks off, certainly take it back. I know from experience that if you are truly bothered by it, you will only get more frustrated until it''s fixed.

Hello :)

Just wanted to say that I love both your new and your old rings - they are beautiful!

As an alternative suggestion as to what's making you think the diamond looks 'sunken' and with short prongs, is that you have moved from a simple solitaire setting, to a cathedral setting.

The cathedral setting is meaning that the shoulders of the ring are rising up to meet the diamond, so on the sides next to the shoulders the prongs are shorter and the diamond appears to be set a lot lower than it really is.

When you look at it from the other direction (rotated 90 degrees so you are looking at the ring like this: O< ), the prongs on those sides are longer, and you can see how high the diamond is truly set.

Until I realised it was a cathedral setting, I thought it was set low... but once I saw the photos from all angles it looks perfect, and it occurred to me that maybe the shoulders are what's fooling your eyes.

Absolutely beautiful ring.. I love it! :)

Thank you again for all your advice and input.
All of your warm messages and advice really made me feel much better. Now I have more confidence in my new ring, because it seems that it passed in the PS exam.

Cleo and Hairgirl95, thank you for your explanation of the eye impact between the two different settings. I did not know my new setting is called a cathedral setting, thank you!

Though I love my new ring, I miss my old ring’s thin prongs and delicate look.
I am planning to take the ring to my jeweler and discuss “shaving the tips.”
I am bit afraid of making the prongs look even shorter by slimming it, though...

I hope I can communicate better this time and hope that I will be satisfied with the result.

Anyway, I learned a very important lesson.
Once the stone is set low, it cannot be reset higher without changing the head.

I will be careful next time if there is next time. Ha!

Once again, thank you everyone!!
