Just curious...what is the largest size stone you get along those lines for 12,000? We''re comparing getting a 2.39ct J SI1 (specs and pics are posted here:https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/2-39-j-si1-first-post-please-help.79376/) for $15,000 with getting something just under 2ct with the same great specs for around 12k. I can''t actually FIND a stone that is 1.9 with the same specs...Is it possible? THANKS!!!

Have you tried searching at the top of the PS page for what you''re looking for? It''ll give you available stones and their prices.

Yes, there''s nothing in the Cut Quality search, and only one that I found in the regular search. It''s hard to tell how nice it would be because the pavillion and crown angles aren''t listed. I''m hoping someone who has purchased one in the past could tell me what to expect pricewise???

All I am seeing close to that is a 1.75 J VS2 at $10,761.

Blue nile has a couple of stones over 2 carats in the J/SI range that appear to be well-cut for just above 12k. However, they don''t have an upgrade policy or images of their stones. I couldn''t read the cert well-enough to see the crown/pavillion angles to better judge cut quality.

Here they are:

If you want to buy from someone with an upgrade policy like wf, gog, JA, etc. inventory is going to be sparse at 1.9 carats. You might be able to find one if you wait around for a while though. I did a quick search and didn''t come up with anything.

I did a quick search for ya at Good Old Gold.

This is 1.75 J VS2. It's an ideal cut. I know it's a smaller than what you requested, but it looks so gorgeous, I had to post!

eta: just saw that it has strong flour.--don't know how the flour effects this particular stone.

Thanks guys! The reason I ask is that my BF is uncertain about paying 15k for the 2.39. He wants to find something smaller and save money. Personally I THINK the price on 2.39 is really great, THEREFORE it would be hard to find the same quality for 12k. But that could be my inexperience talking!!!

We''re trying to decide if it''s worth it to just pay the money now for the larger stone or go with a 2ct or just under 2ct for 3k less...

eta: I took a quick look at James Allen, but they didn't seem to have much in the way of 1.9s -hard size to find!

That size is definitely hard to find, but if you''re open to the bluenile stones they look like good options (if eyeclean)!

The second is- GIA cert (so rounded angles)

Bank wire price: $12,018
Carat weight: 2.01

Clarity: SI1
Depth %: 61.1%

Either might be decent options if you are not planning to upgrade, and your bf would like to save a few grand. But your 2.39 option is tasty too!!

It may be possible but not likely. At 1.95 you know the cutter is going to try really hard to get it to 2.0. So it could be really hard to find. Being a guy, I can sympathize with your boyfriend and the wallet pains. But as a diamond fan I''ll tell you that 2.39 is a very rare find. Good luck, sounds like you''ll end up with something special either way.
