Our 34 yrs old (American made) Maytag washer & dryer...still cranking today. Buying cheaply made Chinese products is a waste of $$$ in the long run.

I've lost count of all the washers I've had over the last 34 years.I think nowadays they're only designed to last 5 years

Two yrs ago we bought a new Whirlpool refrigerator. I make sure that it was made in the USA and not in China or Mexico.

My manual wind Timex watch, given to me as a child, mid 1960's, still runs perfectly and 100% accurate. Never repaired.

Speed Queen still manufactures in Wisconsin I think. We have their washer and dryer and they are workhorses. We bought the commercial grade and they handled 20 loads per week with no issues.
Not "cool' like red front load LG's with touchpads---but functionally they are great. No issues.
