Is anyone going to the Tiffany Moondance Gala in Boston?

DH and I received an invite the other day and can't go (I'm in LA, he'll be in Texas) - but it sounds INCREDIBLE, and I wondered if anyone else was going, or had ever been to one of these.

This was the wording on the email that came with the invite - I'm kinda crying a bit because I can't gooooo! Anyone else going or been to something similar?

Dear xxxxxx and xxxxxx,

I have the pleasure to invite you to the Annual Moondance Esplanade Gala at The Banks of Charles River, Saturday September 14.

The event is Black Tie Attire, the cocktail hour starts 6:30pm followed by dinner, auction as well as Dessert and Dancing Under The Stars.
Let me know if you can make it, Kristen and I are looking forward to hearing from you.

I have my fair share of formal events, but none with auctions, or only of unexpected strangers like this would be. Intrigued.

Lol - I'll do my best, @monarch64! Tho I have to say, you're one of the few people I'd actually trust with my jewelry! I was talking to DH about going next year and I said to him "You realize we'd be expected to bid on something, right?" He said "Fine." So - we're good to go! Now we've just got to wrangle an invite in 2020! I have to say, tho, I find the idea of Tiffany pieces - over-priced at the best of times - being bid on and having their prices pushed up in the name of charitable donation pretty daunting! I might have to contain myself to the homewares collection!
