I''m just wondering! I am pretty sure that I am going to do this. My e-ring has an odd shape so that a band would not fit up against it without big gaps. Anyone else?

Also, I realized that I have never posted a picture of my e-ring, so here it is! This gives you a sense of the shape and why I think it won''t look that great up against my wedding band (which I think will be an eternity band...)

YES!

I will be wearing mine on different hands.

I have what appear to be strange and hardcore reasons for wearing them that way, and don''t want to threadjack, but I prefer them on seperate hands. I also personally feel that the two together detract from each ring when I see it on others'' hands.

hi - i just wanted to pop in and say that i love your ring! do you have any more pictures, or specs? thanks!

WHOA! i think before anything else happens, you need to post more pictures of that ring!! it looks gorgeous!

so will you wear your e-ring on your R hand? I have considered this because I don''t want my w-band to eat away at my ering & I don''t want them soldered. WHen I do it, I wear the ering on my left hand, just because I like it, but then I feel funny because I"m married, not engaged!

Haha, purple I have the same conflicted feelings and I''m not sure which should go where. I think I would probably do e-ring on right hand, band on left, just because otherwise i would feel like people would be like, so when are you getting married (just seeing the e-ring!) Only thing I don''t love about that is shaking hands with people with my right hand with my e-ring on it (that is painful! haha) i know that is a silly consideration but lawyers seem very into shaking hands!! lol!

Ace and Lucky - thank you guys! I have some crappy pics I took when we first got engaged and I can try to post them. I need to take new ones one of these days! Give me a few minutes :)

AceP - off topic but I just saw your post with your pictures - wowwwwie! Gorgeous!!! You looked beautiful - what a perfect day!

Ok, here are a few more pics I dug up - sorry they are not that great

I will try to take more next week when I am free as a bird after finals!

I''m emarassed to say that I don''t know many of the specs of my ring - I can ask FI though! I know that the center is about 2.3, and the side stones are called trillions (haha....see I really don''t know much!)

another crappy shot - it does not look so speckled and dirty in real life!

Beautiful ring! I forgot to say that in my first post. I was ogling it, just forgot to mention it!

Wow, GORGEOUS ring!!!

I planned to wear my e-ring on my right hand until about 2 months before the wedding. My left and right hands are different sizes, so I had the e-ring sized for my right hand and wore it on my right hand for most of the engagement. I planned to get a chunkier eternity or the Cartier pave rolling ring for my left hand as a wedding band, but then I started doubting my choice because both optoins were really expensive and not comfortable. I ended up resizing my ring and moving it to the left. I still love the look of a stand-alone wedding band with the e-ring on the right hand, though.

Thanks so much, NewEngland and purple! He did a good job!

thanks for you kind words about my wedding!

it bears repeating; that ring is stunning. have you considered a curved band that sits flush but isn''t soldered? is that possible?

Aww, thank you! You are too sweet (from what I can see in your picture, your e-ring looks like a stunner too!)

I have thought about the curved band, but one thing I worry about is that it will shift around and annoy me! Plus, I want to be able to wear it by itself and if it has a curved design, I don''t think I could do that. Sigh! Thanks for the suggestion though! I will keep looking and maybe try on a few more curved ones!

wow your ring is beautiful

I''m wearing mine together as I got the band that matches my e-ring. I love the look of them together.

My e-ring and w-band don''t match. The w-band is wide and delicate and made of a different metal. I started out wearing them on different hands but found that since I''m properly right handed I bang my e-ring around a lot. It doesn''t sit that high, maybe 5mm, but I hit in on everything. Opening doors, coffee maker, washer when I load clothes. If I do it with my right hand, the ring gets a whack.

Mostly now I just wear either my w-band or e-ring on my left hand and leave the other at home unless we''re going properly out in which case I just try to be very careful with the e-ring.

I''m having my w-band curved so that it fits around my e-ring.

I don''t wear much jewellery and I''m only just getting used to wearing my e-ring. I don''t think I could wear a ring on my right hand without bashing it everywhere!

mrs. polka dot-- your ring is STUNNING!! thanks for the extra pictures!

and to answer your question, i personally wear my rings stacked, but have been considering wearing them on different hands because i''m always paranoid that they''ll scratch each other. a lot of my friends wear them on different hands, though, and i think it looks great. plus, your engagement ring looks like it was meant to stand alone!

Gorgeous ring! I am as well.

Hi Future Mrs. Polka Dot!!

I am wearing my rings on seperate hands too! My reasons were two fold: My ering has a little donut of diamonds which makes a band not sit flush, and would eventually get all scratched and possibly cause damage, and also because I reallllly wanted a blingy eternity band that would look good on its own, and didn''t want to wait!

I also was not big with the curved band thing - for the same reasons as you. I wanted to be able to wear it alone and didn''t like th curve. I do like the look together though just not apart.

I think I am going to leave my ering on my left and put the wb on my right.

Only thing I''m sad about is that by having my two ring fingers taken up with the Ering and WB, I have no fingers left for other rings!!!!

Yes. I wear my e-ring on the left and WB on the right. I switch to WB to left when I''m doing some actiivity where I"m worried my e-ring might get damaged. Also, I used to wear them together but after 10 yrs of marriage and a new e-ring (old was mortally wounded), I don''t care anymore about wearing them together, which hand, etc. Plus, my e-ring looks best as a stand-alone knockout.

Do what works for you!

Hmmm, Addy, this is something to consider! I am righthanded too and I wonder if I would be banging the e-ring around if I moved it over to my right hand?!?

October, I totally agree! I want a really blingy eternity band, too!!

and I just think with my e-ring together, it would just look strange. Esp because I have kind of small hands and when I''ve tried them on together it just looks silly and overdone on me when both are on the same hand.

Haha, and I totally agree with the problem of not having any fingers left

I have this beloved little David Yurman topaz ring that I wear on my right hand, and I don''t know what I''ll do when I switch the e-ring to that hand and have to stop wearing the Yurman! Maybe I will alternate e-ring and Yurman depending on how fancy of an occassion it is!

Tricky decisions we all have! What is a girl to do with all of these ring options??

Amazingly I haven''t managed to chip the ring this way or bend any prongs so maybe I don''t hit as much as I think I do. I did wear it on my right hand all the way through our year and a half engagement and for about six months after we got married so I would have thought that''d be long enough to get used to wear it sits. I''m not the most graceful person ever but I''m not much of a klutz either.

My trouble areas seem to be the day to day tasks - dishwasher loading (you know when you''re half looking where one hand is putting a plate in the dishwasher but also concentrating on picking dishes up from the sink), locking or unlocking the front door (when I turn the key I hit the ring on the door frame), reaching into my front pocket or purse (contact with large lumps of keys), loading the washing machine, putting groceries away - basically anything I do two handed where I might not be able to look at both hands and I misjudge the space. The ring sits 5.5 mm off of my hand, I measured.

I have a semi-blingly antique eternity band which is why I wanted to wear my e-ring on my right hand. The two definitely don''t go together. The stone in my engagement ring is less in mm than the width of the w-band. Talk about overpowering!
