We have an expert here who has sold diamonds for many years. Apparently out of the thousands of diamonds he has seen, only a handful of ones with strong blue fluorescence has shown any negative effects - this is rare, but to be safe, check about the individual diamond with your vendor. Many love SB with an I colour, not only because it is said to help the diamond face up whiter, but because it can add interest and many love the effect!

The only time stong blue flourescence is bad is when it makes the stone look milky. Otherwise, it''s an extra added attraction.

Amen to this.......right on the money.

When I was shopping for an I, I specifically requested medium to strong flourescence.

I love strong blue flour in an I colored stone. It''s very rare that it will hurt performance and will be visible almost immediately in the sun if it does. I generally think that strong blue looks lovely on any colored stones, but helps the lower colored stones appear slightly whiter in sunlight.
