I think they need to use your library...I don''t think Ipods can wirelessly sync. At least my 2nd generation Nano cannot.

Thanks Italianhaircolor -- I was hoping I could use some kind of USB or something without wiping out my entire library....

NOOOO.. dont wipe out your entire library!!!
Just hook it up to the computer, click on the IPOD icon, and unclick the auto-sync button....

thanks tlh -- my problem is my computer with my itunes library is in a storage unit -- UGH. It took me 4 months to load all my cds into my library and now I can''t get to my computer that has the library. A very old dear friend of mine asked me to load her new ipod for her birthday with my stuff -- and my hands are tied unless I can find a way to do it ipod to ipod.....

Ahh, now I understand. No, Ipod doesn''t like you "sharing", probably too close to the Napster lawsuit. So they make it a little tough, like that "autosync" thing... sorry.

Thanks -- but I was told it was possible by a sales assoc at the Apple Store. But since the method is not "apple approved" she couldn''t tell me how to do it......

Does anyone know how?

Ok, I'm guessing you haven't tried googling this yourself, because there are MANY links about doing this... There is also something called "MiShare". There was a link on google but the connection was terminated. Maybe you can find something else about it.

Here is one to get you started: http://www.downloadatoz.com/ipod-to-ipod/sync-one-ipod-to-another-ipod.html

ETA:
Here's another one... doesn't look like anything I can find is going to be free.

thanks meresal -- I did a Yahoo! search and found some options that cost $$ -- the $100 option seems the easiest way to go, but I was hoping to find a way that didn''t cost a lot.

thanks again for the help....

You''re right about that -- but just the hassle of setting it up etc etc, just gotta get my lazy bu** to the storage place...the incentive will be saving 100 bucks!

I''m going to ask someone at Best Buy too -- maybe they know of a way...

Thanks again for helping me out!

i can''t help you with the free option, but there is a device that i purchased from grandin road that plugs into two ipods and you can share music between the ipods. one of my boys got it for christmas.

there are ways to do what you want for free, but make sure you have a backup of your library in music format and not just file format. just in case...

perhaps no one would want to admit to it in a public forum, but online there are the answers you are looking for.
