Hello all!

My parents are throwing us an after wedding BBQ at their place (it's a destination wedding, but they happen to live in the tropics), the day after the wedding.

This is Mum's baby - she gets to throw the whole shebang, and I am ordering some cute invites for her. Can you help us out with the wording? What do you prefer:

In appreciation of the long distances travelled
to celebrate My Honey and Mrs Honey's wedding,

Dad and Mum warmly invite

…………………………………

to a tropical

afternoon barbeque

at
yada yada yada

OR

Dad and Mum,

in appreciation of the long distances travelled to celebrate Mr Honey and Mrs Honey's wedding,

warmly invite

………………………………………

to a tropical afternoon barbeque

They will be printed on these invites, the DL landscape option.

Or do you have any other ideas? Suggestions?

I think either one is appropriate and they invites look beautiful :), both wordings to me flow really well.

Thanks Dee! We like the second one, but something seemed a bit off, and I wasn''t sure if it was me. While I have you here, I might as well threadjack my own thread and show you our wedding invites from the same company.

The square fold ones, in shimmer paper 300gsm. The good thing about needing only a few invites is, we can afford to have each of them personalised and fully printed, ready to send - yay!!

HAHAHAHA you know what is funny I saw those earlier after I looked at this thread remembered you liked frangapanis and thought of you.

I think they would be perfect :), they suit the tropical theme perfectly while still retaining a standard of formality if that makes sense :).

How did you go with BM gifts, any luck yet?

Hehehe, I am so predictable, frangis are my favorite flower, they will be in my bouquet and in my hair probably, and used as a theme in our reception. I think they can be a bit tacky sometimes, but in the right setting, at a tropical wedding, done with class, they can look awesome!!!

I have put the BM gifts to the side for a while. My best friends baby shower is this weekend, and I have been busy sorting things for that. I need to get a list and start doing things in some sort of order !!!!!

I did see some really pretty gold flower pendants at goldmark of all places in an old catalouge (no idea what they look like IRL) but I think they might be out of your budget
