Hi guys,
So we got a few samples back from our invitation designer. We're going for a vintage, gardeny pink and green feel. The girls are wearing bright pink dresses. The cake will look like this: http://www.weddingbee.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/08/z92962803.jpg

So the samples are in line with our color scheme, but I just need some direction. First, I feel like there is a bit too much color going on, and I want a more elegant look. I don't like that there are three colors and then a 4th color for the ink. You can't tell from the picture, but that is a light pink band going across the invite.

I was thinking I would just like the green and bright pink - no light pink.

Also, I feel like a patterned paper somewhere in here could be nice- I love this whole look: http://birdandbanner.com/samplepages/three_pages/one.html I also like the bright pink text in that picture...

I just can't find paper online that seems like it will work well. None of the samples my invite person has really jump out at me.

Anyway, just looking for overall thoughts and suggestions if you have any :) Thank you veyr much!

hey lady!! first of all, i absolutely love EVERYTHING on bird and banner, i had those exact same invites bookmarked too. have you looked at cici new york?

they have some fantastic ideas too.

i can''t exactly tell from your picture, is that an enclosure your invite is in? or is that the envelope in the background? so, what if you made the envelope an ivory or white, and made the invite the second color, with the band being the third color? this one is kind of like what i was thinking http://www.cecinewyork.com/collections.php?subsection=wedding&subcollection=classic&design=lauren_robert#

Hi kara!
Yes, i absolutely love ceci SO much! I had that same polka dot ensemble bookmarked, too!

The sample that I have now is a green pocketfold. I think I like the idea of doing it ivory or white instead of green. I don''t know! I really need some sort of fun pattern or maybe the polka dot belly band like in the ceci one you posted :)
Thanks for your help!

What if you did the green part white/ivory and the light pink band, green instead? And keep the bright pink.

And I don''t know whats up with the ink, but I''m not a fan.

I think that if it''s done right, a patterned paper would look great.

Yeah the ink is brown!?! I don''t know if that''s just for the sample? But I''m like...umm...brown does not match here! I was thinking bright pink thermography print?

I think that would be really cool!

post the next revision for sure!! after my invite fiasco i just went through, i know how hard it is to design something yourself when the person who is supposed to be designing them doesn''t seem to GET what you want!!

cici has some great florals too, i loved this one too

what about one big floral graphic like that, in either the pink or green? or you could even make the invite itself the bright pink that you love, with the floral and type in white...then a green belly band? or vice versa, green invite (maybe similar to the light green of the pocketfold or a little more lime-y like the bird and banner one) with white or pink floral and type, and a pink belly band? With an ivory pocketfold?

can''t wait to see what you come up with!

ooooh!!!! I love this one! This is exacty what I was looking for, just with changed colors! I think I am more a belly band person than a pocketfold person! Thank you!

I''m kind of liking something like this...

but with brighter green paper like this...

But my question is - can I then include a nice flower design like the one Kara posted above with a pink floral outline, or is that too much with the belly band?

ooohh i really like the ones you posted with the floral in the border!! and also love the green paper too!! i dont think you would want to do a floral print on the invite itself if you were doing a floral border paper like the one you posted above. but that one is SOOOOO cute, and it has that kind of vintage, fun feeling to it that you want. i definitely think you should show that one to your invite designer.
