so do you all think that someone like me who wanted a G princess could go with an H jubilee b/c of the ideal cut? I REALLY was not going to go below G...! And when looking through the pavillion- will I see less tent in the jubilee than princess?

Adnr3wpd- tell me about that beautiful H you just bought!!!!!

No offense to princess lovers, but honestly, they are not even in the same league when it comes to calculated precision and optics.

Few princess stones are made for that kind of brilliance, so this stone in different in that it is MADE for H&A in a "squarer" shape, like a Regent.

Just because the round stone has achieved the brilliance of H&A and eight stars, etc...doesn't mean people don't buy cushion cuts, and OEC cuts anymore...

Some people prefer a stone with less than perfect optics, because they like the character and shape of the stone and it speaks to them.

More, what does YOUR stone say to you? I say if you can, see them side by side. Go see Jonathan. That's the best way to know. Plus, I want DETAILS if you do go!!!

Moremoremore, I don't have it yet but the folks at GOG didn't want to put it away when I spoke to them on Tuesday. To their trained eyes they were telling me it faces up ALOT nicer than an H, perhaps as much as 2 grades but I took their excitement with a pinch of salt. The true test will be when I get it and take it to my custom jeweler, Alex Gulko. He has an amazing eye for color and cut and he was advising me strongly to not go lower than a G for my main stone. The jubilee will the center piece in an upgrade e-ring, yellow gold except for platinum prongs for the Jube, with 2 G/H pears on the side.

But nicrez- you have a radiant!!!

I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I saw the Queen and I looked at rounds including H&A...and I just don't love them. My hubby says they look dark in the center. (Funny- b/c that's usually the problem with the princess!)...I think part of the problem is that there are more bad than good pricness stones out there....

I don't know what it is....I'm DEFINITELY going to investigate....The jubilee is priced a bit higher than I anticipated so we'll see... (that's the sound of my wheels spinning)...

But as a poster here said (Alidoula, I believe), "If you think the ring is great, you should see the man who gave it to me!!"

Sorry to digress here...

But andr3wpd... Blink tags!!! I can't believe somebody remembers that.

LOL! showing my web dev maturity, aren't I. This is the ONE and ONLY time I ever used that tag, honestly! Errr, errrr, I plead the 5th. I hated the BLINK tag but here it is used as a BLING tag! Wasn't that a netscape-html-2.0-ism?

Wink, as a quick aside, I just wanted to say that it's nice to see you over here. Perhaps we can get even more traffic over to the Colored Stones area.----------------

That works for me. Leonid has done a nice job over here and it is SO much busier than the last time I was here. It is nice to see so many of my old friends again.

The color will be less evident because of the incredible cutting, and the spread of the stone will look like a much larger princess. For example, a .90ct stone will look the same size as a 1.25ct princess. You get more apparent "bang for your buck" even though the stone will be more per carat than a princess. A .9 Jubilee will be less expensive than the 1.25 carat that it looks equal to.

Baltneu and Luvmysparklies,

You both are right. What happened is that Jonathan used to give just links to his educational/infomercial content on his site and I asked him instead of doing that post the content on the forum.

He specifically asked whether he’s allowed to post educational info about this new cut and I said go ahead. Well, as we know Jonathan is very good at it.

So Baltneu is right – it is a promotional material.

There were also requests from other members about this information and the post is also informative and in a way educational. So Luvmysparklies is right too.

I shall learn from this too and in the future there will be a separate place for the posts like this.

I also ask you guys to be positive to each other and avoid personal attacks.
