OK- another question then must get back to work...hehehe.....How are the measurements taken? I heard that the flanders measurements are taken on the diagonal.....what about the jubilee?

WOW. That is breathtaking for a non round cut. If I were to get a square, that would be the bad boy I'd get over a round any day!!!

WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!

The lab decides this, not the maker / seller of the cut. Since these stones went to GIA, they are measured as princess and rads are.

David Atlas mentioned the odd thing about Flanders, since many of those stones are graded by some other lab - and that is their method of reporting measurements... This was on a recen post of his

4 More showing up on the site, just the basic specs for now, but looks like they are coming in pretty quick.

And what a day for me to have email problems!

I came up to work at noon today to tackle the email and I haven't been able to answer one yet. Please bear with me as I get my laptop back up to speed. I don't think I'll ever get a Toshiba again.

Hi, I thought I'd introduce myself. I work at GOG and I do all the pictures and web pages. I think the Jubilee is awesome and I am excited to do the rest of the scans and pictures of the other jubilee diamonds. I will do more tommorow and hopefully I won't tease you much longer with bits and drabs of these diamonds. Jonathan and myself were looking at it live and we were both saying how "sparkley" it was. The web pages that I made already are the only ones so far that we have and we don't know what's comming next. That is the only thing ("The next batch") left I can tease you with.

With the regent it was recomended to have an open setting to let light hit it from all sides for it to perform right.
Does the Jubilee have the same restriction?

GOG Site is SLOOWWWWW right now. Must be all that positive press on the new stone!

How fun.

One other thing Jonathan! Since I know you have Cary's ear...tell them to start cutting some more lower clarity and color stones! The Regent has the same problem, no lower grades for those of us who may want a stone for a pendant. Mostly VS and higher colors with maybe one I VS sneaking in from time to time.

With the similar H&A markup in these stones, it would be nice to have more options in lower grades. The supply may be restricted for a while...but if you could mention this to them, it'd be much appreciated! For example, right now you have colors of H,I,D,G,D listed on the Jubilee page, and only one SI1 out of all of those. I'd love to see something like an H, I and J SI2's at some point for non-ring related stones. Regent as well.

My two cents

Great stone, Jonathan.

I had already seen it, and am still wondering about it.

My main question is: why do you call it square?

Live long,

Paul

perhaps more octagonal, Paul?

How does this compare to the 88 cut diamond that was previously discussed in this forum? At first glance, the 88 cut diamond looks to be 8 equal sides, whereas this appears more square, with some very slight "rounding" in the shorter corners. Would be interested to see the two against eachother as they, at first glance, appear to be variations of the same theme.

Can any experts chime in? See the 88 cust diamond at http://www.88cut.com/home.htm

Once set the Jubilee should look very square. It is more like the HOF Dream than anything else. The prongs, set on the corners will mask a little of the octogonal feel. I certainly hope so!

I loveeeeee the Dream. I want a Jubilee! That .63 G SI is calling my name!!

MadMarlin, I believe that the cut of the ** (according to the pamphlet I have) is an octogonal cut, much like a Lucida is, although it looked to have a lower depth (similar to a round, with similar angles and measurements)

For a while Jonathan thought the 88 I was trying to describe was the Jubilee, but after I posted it, the facet arrangement but mostly the SHAPE made it obviously another stone. I have never personally seen it tested, as I don't any of the GGs here have any (sold only in Carribean and Las Vegas and Key West), but it most likely may not have the hearts and arrows perfection of the Jubilee.

But I WILL say that little 88 sparkled me to almost tears...

You never cease to amaze me, Jonathan.

"GCAL warrants that each diamond meets the grades and measurements noted in the GIA or AGSL grading report, within recognized gemological tolerances" - they say.

... and the report contains more info anyway.

I think either Cary, the Broker or Jonathan, or a combination thereof, decided to use GemCalc in order to expedite getting Jubilee's in the hands of customers that have been teased and tormented for months.

I innocently tried to buy a QOH from Jonathan in early March only for Jonathan to instruct me to wait! And wait I did. I will still only get the Jube in time to present loose to my wife on our actual anniversary.

which one did you get andrew?! LINK!

So andr3wpd is the one with the 1.18 H I assume? I like that one a lot! I'm in on the Jubilee also, it is too beautiful to pass up! Hopefully Jonathon will find more soon for everyone else!

I could not believe the words "deposit placed on this stone" on the GOG site! That was one fast sale

Yup, you are right. This is my wife's new diamond.

After putting up with me for 10 years and bringing 2 amazing kids into the world with me this is the least I could do. I wish it was a little bigger but it was the biggest Jonathan had, and our anniversary is next week. It is going to be set as the center stone between two pears, one of which is in her existing e-ring. She has an idea I am doing something but no idea it will be this amazing.

Before you ask, don't worry I will post pics!

Just a bump to the top. Chas has lots more pictures and info up on the rest of the stones!
