First and foremost let me just thank all of you on this site for providing me with soooo much knowledge over the past few weeks. I have been a lurker for a while just reading over many of the posts and tutorials and have come a long way from where I was a few weeks ago in terms of knowledge.

Now on to my situation. Two weeks ago I started the journey to finding that "perfect" e ring. My first two trips into stores revealed just how little I knew about rings and especially diamonds. Realizing I had to do something about that I started searching in the internet for all types of info and luckily stumbled upon this site.

Since reading everything here everything I thought I wanted in a diamond has now been changed. My original budget was around $6K for just the stone, but now realized that I am going to have to bump that up significantly to get what I want. New budget is $8k - $10 for the stone (which I am in the process of locating). I plan on having my ring custom designed by WF and although I would prefer to buy my stone from them I found one on BN that is a VERY strong contender.

Since all of you people here are the experts I wanted to get your take on this diamond and any feedback that you may have. Any and all help is MUCH appreciated.

This is at the very top of my price range so is it worth it?

Thoughts????

It could be a great stone by the numbers, but it would be easier to get WF to do the whole shebang, do they have any diamonds you are interested in?

I was originally a bit interested in this one, but I think the clouding may be a bit much. Not sure if it is eye clean.

ya, same thoughts are Lorelei. Why do the shipping from one place to another for them to set it? I understand you have to get your own insurance for the setting of non-vendor''s stone.

There are several stones in the H range that are in your stone size and price range in WF. Or is that too low in the color grade for you?

The 1.35c H SI1 looks good to me as there are nothing visible in the ASET and IS pics. Just give WF a call and ask them if it is eye-clean to your definition. Much easier that way in my opinion.

Why is the 1.311ct H VS2 stone out of your price range? You are going to pay by CC? If by wire transfer, with the PSer''s discount, it will be the same as that BN stone.

Ditto and they will be able to tell you if clouds are an issue ( which is unlikely) but then you will know for sure, those are 2 excellent diamonds.

Well, I COULD stretch my budget a bit more, however keep in mind that my original going-in budget as of 2 weeks ago was $6k for the diamond so I guess it is just a mental thing knowing I am breaking the 5 figure mark for the diamond. I would come up a bit short to do a full wire transfer (by about $2k) so that option is out.

I guess I will be calling WF soon to talk with them since they don''t even know yet that they will be designing my ring! ;)

OIC. Good Luck then. :) Maybe you can hold off deciding on the stone. Go about with the designing of the ring first, that is going to take a while as I understand it, and tell WF about your stone requirement and budget, hopefully by the time the ring setting is complete they will be able to bring one that meets your requirements in?

EDT:
I mean if the 1.35c is not eye clean to your standard... :p
