When you buy a diamond over the internet, how does the average layperson know that the diamond being purchased matches the GIA Cert?

Once the diamond arrives isn''t it one person''s word against the other?

If you purchase over the internet, what is a reasonable return policy?

Good question!
What we do is ,we send the stone with the cert.to an independent well known laboratory that identifies that the stone matches the cert. it came with !They then send you the stone direct , this way there is a reputable third party involved so there would be no misunderstandings on both sides.
As far as return policies are concerned most sites offer return policies, you just have to check them out and see what each one offer
