From my previous postings and coming to florida from the uk, the advice given to me was to see many princess cut stones as possible before purchasing (thank you), so i have looked about and found that the international diamond center in florida can offer me a wide range of settings and huge instore selection of diamonds when i get there. IS this the best option for me to choose or stick with my original choice of an online vendor and only being able to choose from a couple of stones?

Does anyone have any good or bad things to say about the International Diamond Center?

I have not heard anything on International Diamond Center in FLA. Do they have a website?
I dont know much about princesses, but I would just pick out a couple of nice stones and have them sent to an appraiser. You are not going to have tons of time to pick something out from scratch at the B&M. Talk to a couple of vendors, ask them to help you pick a nice stone and have them ship to the appraiser. The appraiser can give you an unbiased opinion on the stones. I heard the ACA Princesses from WF are stunning.

This sounds like the easiest and least stressful way to go about it.

For example, if you were to buy something from Whiteflash in Texas and have them ship it to you in Florida - you would also avoid paying sales tax, right?

Good Luck.

Good luck.

http://www.intdia.com/ is the site and i do have another site that i have emailed and will bring stones in just not the choice that i will have if i go to this one.

will you be near either sarasota or boca raton during your visit?

No not really we are based in kissimmee and are considering gainesville but that is 2 hours away and would entail 2 visits, but my eldest would love to go down to miami in the chance of meeting horatio cain

This place is a 30 min drive away and wouldnt eat too much into the kids holiday.

ahhh...kissimmee. you must be going to disney world!

i was asking about sarasota and boca raton because there are two respected appraisers in the area that would be able to receive diamonds for comparison on your behalf.

are you still considering abazias?

Yes were off to disney world kids 13,8 and 2 with 14 day unlimited passes

hence trying to cut the travelling time down and yes were still very much considering abazias, just wish that i could see more of what they list but that wont be possible. Its too big a purchase in a country im not used to, to have any doubts about the diamond or ring, hence all the questions.

Well after a few emails to international diamond center i am going off them, they will answer all emails except when i ask for a rough idea as to what my money will get me although they do say my budget is do able but of course it is but what would i be getting

I dont want to get there and find i could have got better from abazias, and theres no way that i can go there first then go to abazias as the setting needs to be ordered in by abazias and could take 3 weeks.

I live in FL and have been there. Personally, I found the quality sadly lacking. The selection of settings was pretty extensive and they had a decent amount of diamonds on hand but nothing I would have considered.

Can you please give me more info about the quality was it the stones or the settings that lacked quality? Can you remember what you were offered for what price? as they seem reluctant to give me any indication? One idea was to possibly buy setting from there but get the diamond elsewhere

Why would you even want to buy anything from them if they are being so shady??? They should JUMP at the chance to help you and let you know exactly what you''d get for your $, any reliable PS vendor would tell you exactly what you could get and would probably help you pick a winner too! I''d take all my $ elsewhere if it were me...

I''ve been to one of their locations in Orlando. This was quite a while ago. I would say they have some stones that are a step above mall quality from places like Zales and such, but you can defintely get more bang for your buck online. That said, they could probably get you what you want. When I called them, they were originally reluctant to talk prices over the phone, but I think that is because of the type of salespeople they have. They could work in sales anywhere and have no real specific diamond knowledge (generalizing here). I told him if he wouldn''t dicsuss prices, we have nothing to discuss and he came around rather quickly. So, if you want to talk to them, lay it on the line and tell them your business will go elsewhere if they don''t open up and discuss what you want to know.

I''d basically say they are ok, above Zales but below the best online vendors. Be careful when viewing their diamonds as they may not be exactly as stated by the salesclerk. They should have GIA cert''ed diamonds you can see. Price will be higher than what you can get online. Show them you know what you are talking about and that you are the boss and they won''t waste time trying to push you in to something you obviously wouldn''t want.

My heart is with abazias but my head was telling me to try differant settings to see what suited best which isnt an option with abazias but today we made the decision on a setting and its abazias all the way.

Here is their site, if you are still interested. As you can see, they do carry many settings, including Ritani and Scott Kay. If you want to buy a setting from them and a diamond elsewhere, I would check into this carefully. With a designer setting, I would only want the designer to be setting the diamond into the setting.
