Hi all. New here. Can I please get some suggestions for interlocking rings. I want to propose to my GF, but I have no idea what I'm doing. Thank you.

You might want to have this thread moved to Rocky Talky. Click the 'Report Concern' button and the moderator can move it.

Did you girlfriend specify that she wants an 'interlocking' ring? Did she show you examples? Do you know if she meant she wants a ring wrap/guard for a wedding band to go around a solitaire?

I asked to have this moved to the rocky talky thread. My girlfriend said she wanted a set. Are sets and interlocking different? I assumed the were the same thing. Here is a pic of one she loved at Costco. Kind of hard to tell, but there is a ring inside the ring. Had to take picture very secretly. Anyway, they are asking $3999. VS2, I color. .72 carats. Is that an ok deal?

Typically a "set" just means a matching engagement ring and wedding band. If your girlfriend wants a band that nests inside another ring, or intertwines with one, that is a very specific desire and different than just saying a "set". Before you move forward, make sure you understand exactly what your girlfriend means.

Regarding the Costco set you posted, when buying something like this, you're really going to want a ring that is certified by GIA or AGS. If you post your budget and expectations on size/shape/color, the experts here can find you some great options.

The pear set is just a pear solitaire and ring guards. Style was popular in the 80s.

This setting is absolutely beautiful. I really like it a lot.

Early in my search I was dissuaded from looking at these types of settings. I was interested in them since they seem to incorporate the centerstone into the ring instead of using the ring as a tether by which to attach a centerstone to one's body. The reason I was discourage to look at these was the difficulty in obtaining a matching wedding band. Is this not the case?

Since discovering these forums, I've found that almost everything I thought I knew was wrong, so I guess I need to go back and revisit all of my assumptions!

What other concerns might there be with a setting like this?

Thanks!

Thank you for all the help so far. Sorry I'm not on here very often. Trying to keep it secret from my girlfriend.
It was a set she said the she wanted.
