Actually the standard measurement of the room is wrong. The length for both this area of downstairs and the living room are 24 in length.

I hear you about location as I will miss Hillcrest terribly for the city living. We chose this area for the close proximity to my work in La Jolla. Just 15 minutes drive and with no traffic. Luckily DH will be working from home so he is just thrilled about the quietness of our street (on top of canyon) and 3-car garage for his model0airplane building.

If we were filthy rich, Del Mar or La Jolla would be lovely choices. But honestly, given our price range, this is by far the best location/nicest neighborhood/house among all the central SD area we have looked.

We live in North County Inland. I do really enjoy living where we do. I would choose to live closer to downtown SD, but we had some housing needs that made where we live our best option. I love our home and there are some wonderful aspects to our neighborhood. One day I think we''ll live elsewhere in the county but I am very happy with where we are right now.

Take this quiz for me please

BTW, I hear great things about La Jolla and I've been trying to visit one of my friends that lives there.

Well, that''s me too. In theory, you like more traditional decor and furniture.

What are your favorite and least favorite colors?

I found this really cool web site where I can sort of design the rooms. This is what I came up with for the living room. Any suggestions for something a bit different? http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/pac_ctnt_wide/text/0,1783,HGTV_17897_23822,00.html

I agree with Tacori. Remove the two-seater and have a couch flanked by two single chairs.

I have kind of an open layout with my house and I painted most every wall the same neutral color, I think it was called "Buttercream" and each room got an accent color - which are all harmonious with each other.

My bedroom is a grey violet, the living room a soft rust, the dining room a sage green, the spare bedroom is a strawberry coral, and the kitchen incorporates the rust, sage and violet with copper accents. The bathroom is all Buttercream. Then again, my style is

Well, that''s sort of why I recommended the sectional - it seems like it will fit better into that particular space. However, I would still probably get 2 club chairs.
